I opened the door only to find my sister lying limp on the floor. Blood oozed from her body and painted the floor a bright crimson red. As I picked her up and placed her head on my lap, Kanae opened her eyes and kindly smiled at me.
"Live Shinobu... live." Using her last breath to utter those words to me, she closed her eyes for the last time and stopped breathing. I screamed into the night, letting all my sorrows and anger fade into the air. Tears fell from my face, washing away the blood splattered on Kanae's face as they made their way onto the floor. 'Those demons... those demons... I'll murder them all myself.'

I woke up in a cold sweat, my back completely drenched. As I got out of my futon to get ready for the day, Aoi walked into the room with my washed Demon Slayer Corps uniform and haori.
As she set my folded clothes down in front of me, she asked me, "Did you have that dream again?"
"Thank you very much for bringing my clothes, Aoi. To answer your question, I did dream about my sister's death again." I replied.
We continued to talk for a while, but she eventually left so I could dress. As she was about the leave the doorway, she mentioned, "Giyu Tomioka is staying with us for a while." After Aoi went to prepare breakfast for everyone, I was finally left alone with my thoughts. 'I wonder why I keep on dreaming about Kanae. I thought I had gotten over her death a long time ago. I swore to kill demons not only as revenge for my deceased sister, but to make sure no other families get torn apart.' After dressing myself and finishing my morning routine, I decided to head down to the dining hall to get some breakfast.

As I walked into the dining hall, my gaze was immediately drawn to a pair of piercing blue eyes. 'Ara ara, it's Tomioka. He's alone like usual.' I got my food as usual, but instead of sitting with Kanao and Aoi, I went over to Tomioka to sit across from him.
"Ara ara Tomioka, you social recluse. Are you lonely sitting alone?" I dished out my trademark smile and tilted my head. "You have to learn to get used to it since you have no friends."
He quickly looked away. "I do have friends. They just happen to not be here today."
I laughed, "Oh my Tomioka. You know no one in the Demon Corps likes you right?"
"People do like me. Tanji-"
"Tanjiro likes everyone so he doesn't count."
Tomioka ignored my remark and continued to eat. Or at least he tried to. I took a closer look at him and realized his right hand and left leg were wrapped in bandages. He tried to pick up the salmon in his salmon daikon with his left and, but kept on dropping it. After a good 15 tries, I started to feel embarrassed for him.
"Tomioka, are you right-handed? Since you can't use your right hand, do you want me to feed you?" I jokingly said.
He waited for a second to reply, before saying, "Yes, please do." 'What? I was just joking, but it seems since Tomioka has such bad social skills, he mistook my joke as an actual offer.' "What's taking so long. Didn't you say you would feed me?"
"Uh... " I picked up my pair of chopsticks off of the table and gently lifted some salmon. He opened his mouth and I placed the salmon in his mouth.
