He grabbed my chin and uttered the words that I thought that I would never hear. "I love you Kocho Shinobu."

His hand was still holding onto my chin, his breaths more erratic than normal. Unable to look away, I stared back into his eyes, finding myself entranced by their beauty. He pulled me in closer, his breaths becoming more ragged by the second.

"You haven't told me how you feel yet." He said with his normal monotone voice, but his face showed the slightest hints of embarrassment. A slight blush began to creep onto his cheeks, coloring his pale skin pink.

'How dense can one man be?' I smiled and prepared myself to finally tell him how I truly felt. Taking two deep breaths, I mentally braced myself to say the words I had never told anyone before. "I-"

"CAW CAW! ORDERS FOR SHINOBU TO RETURN TO HER ESTATE! ORDERS FOR SHINOBU TO RETURN TO HER ESTATE!" I inwardly groaned, annoyed at my crow for ruining the mood. 'Who knows how long it will take for us to finally build a mood like that.' I glanced out to the window, staring at the crow who was still flying in the air.

When I turned around, I found Tomioka's eyes averted from my face, pointed down at the floor. He cleared his throat, waiting for me to break the silence. "Uhh... this is quite awkward. I guess I have to go." Too embarrassed to say anything else, I hastily made my way outside and rushed back to the Butterfly Estate.

Walking into the infirmary room, I noticed an injured Tanjiro, quite the common occurrence. However, instead of giving me a weak smile, he was breathing heavily on the bed, his face as white as the sheets he was laying on. I took out a handkerchief, dabbing the sweat off of his forehead. Replacing the wet cloth on his forehead, I noticed three small puncture holes on his right forearm.

Aoi walked over to me from the opposite side of the room where she was tending several injured civilians. "Is there anything I can do to help you?" I smiled and patted her head, ruffling her hair in the process.

"I have some standard antidotes in the medical room in one of the drawers. Mix some with water and feed it to Tanjiro three times a day. Make sure he drinks it all, or else it won't be effective." I turned around to leave the room when I saw Kanao peeping at us from behind a corner. I looked at the direction where she was staring, my eyes ending up at Tanjiro's bed. My eyes widening, I grinned at Kanao who promptly scurried away.

'Young love, huh. Must be nice, especially with a truthful and kind boy like Tanjiro.' I stretched out my arms as I walked back to my room. 'I hope I can see Tomioka soon and tell him how I truly feel.' Groaning, I opened one of the sliding doors which lead outside, basking in the sunlight until the sun had set.

Sighing, I laid down on the floor, letting dog Kocho rest on top of my stomach. My hair was spread out on the floor, collecting the minuscule amount of dirt brought in by dog Kocho. 'I wonder what her answer would be if we weren't interrupted...' I slowly sat up and gently placed Kocho onto the floor. 'I have to go down to the Butterfly Estate and get her answer.'

Putting on my haori, I stepped outside, the chilled air burning against my cheeks. Trying to warm myself up, I jogged down the mountainside as I made my way to Kocho. As I neared the gates of the estate, I noticed all of the Pillars approach the gate from the opposite side of me. Confused as to why all of the Pillars were there, I stopped walking, waiting for them to enter first.

To my dismay, the Sound Pillar, Tengen Uzui noticed me first. He laughed as he put his hands on his hips. "Well, if it isn't the Water Pillar finally attending the group meeting. What a flamboyant meeting this will be today." I turned around quickly, planning to visit Kocho on another day. As I began to walk away, Mitsuri grabbed my shoulder.

"You never come to the Pillar meetings and you already got your arm treated... does this mean you came to visit Kocho?" She squealed at me, pinching my cheeks with crushing force. Iguro stood behind her, glaring at me as she pulled my cheeks about. "Come in with us. You can disguise the reason for your visit." She poked me in the ribs before dragging me inside by the wrist with her monstrous strength. Sighing, I let myself be dragged into the house, putting up no effort to stop her.

After the meeting ended, Uzui walked up to me, his three wives trailing behind him. As he was munching on some anpan, he began to ramble on about random topics. "Haha, this place is so flamboyantly great! There's great food and the house is of such high quality!" Feeling uncomfortable, I looked around the room for an excuse to leave. Finding none, I stood there awkwardly until I saw Tomioka enter the room. As soon as he entered the room, Uzui continued to blabber on without stopping. "I like you so much I would want to marry you! We would have a flamboyant wedding if you agreed to it!"

Upon hearing this, Tomioka's lips formed a scowl and his eyebrows furrowed. He rushed towards me and grabbed my wrist, dragging me out of the room. He eventually brought me to a vacant room located towards the west of the house. Even with the minimal lighting, I could tell that his face was back to normal, emotionless.

"So, why did you come here today?" I sat down on one of the chairs and tried to forget what happened earlier in the day. 'Who am I fooling? We both know why he came here.' He walked towards my chair and grabbed my shoulders. He brought his mouth near my ear and whispered.

"I just wanted to know what your answer is... regarding my question earlier." He brushed some of the hair off of my ear and moved his head back, looking into my eyes. Too nervous to speak, I stayed silent for a while, gathering up the courage to open my mouth.

"I... I don't know how I feel." After hearing this, he smiled softly and started to leave the room without a noise. His eyes had a look of sadness that I had never seen before. 'Damn it. Why can't I just be honest with myself or others?'

Right before he completely left the room, I found myself running after him. I wrapped my arms around his waist. I buried my head into his solid back and began to speak. "Wait... don't go. I'm sorry that I wasn't honest before, but I couldn't find the right words to say. I just want to be with you forever and ever and ever."

This chapter is so shitty, but I didn't want to leave you guys hanging for too long. Highschool's just been harder than I had thought and I still need to practice music for at least an hour every single day. Welp, that's enough for excuses. Anyways, I'll probably rewrite this chapter later anyways. THANK YOU AS ALWAYS FOR READING!!!
