"Hey guys! What's up? Did I do something?" I said in between breaths.

"Oh, no. Of course not, ditching us to go hang out with the Gryffindor quidditch captain is totally normal," Alyssa sneered.

"Wha- Guys listen-"

"No, Y/N. We don't care that you were hanging out with him, you can do whatever you want. But you two have a huge rivalry, not more than him and Flint but still. And then you left US to hang out with him?" Jeremy's eyes filled with hurt.

"Look, I really am sorry. It won't happen again, I promise."

"Are you sure?"

"Absolutely."

Time skip to the next day...
I hadn't talked to or seen Oliver since yesterday, when I left him at the courtyard. I couldn't help but feel like I forgot something. Like there was something important nagging at the back of my mind.

Another day, wasting away in a History of Magic class. It was a long and dreadful one, nothing much new there. We had the class with the loud and wildly Gryffindors, though Oliver wasn't there. It was 10 minutes into class, but he wasn't usually one to be late.

5 minutes after that thought, the door to the classroom burst open, Professor Binns only looking that direction for a second before continuing on with his boring lecture.

It was Oliver, of course, dressed in a messy state of robes, his hair ruffled to beautiful perfection and- no stop that.

He took his usual seat behind me, giving me a shy grin walking pass. Before too long, he passed a note up to me.

"Y/N, long time no see, eh?"

I let out a slight chuckle before responding, "oh, it was absolutely dreadful not being around you for 12 hours. How will I ever make it through?"

I sent it back with a huge smile on my face, melting a bit when I heard his stifled laughter.

While I knew I should've been paying attention, my mind was preoccupied with the notes and thoughts of Oliver Wood. It made the class go a bit faster, and my heart melt a little more.

By the time class was over, we already had plans for lunch together. He had something to tell me, and there was also something I needed to tell him.

After a couple free periods of napping and catching up on notes and homework, I made my way down to the lake with my lunch.

Oliver was already there waiting, having dug into his plate long before I showed up.

"Couldn't even wait for me, could ya?"

He looked up at me with puppy dog eyes, his mouth full of whatever he had been eating.

"Oh," he swallowed his food. "I hadn't given it much thought honestly. I'm starving."

I giggled, plopping down next to him. We had an interesting conversation, one of the many that we had in the past. But this one ended in a way neither of us expected.

"I actually have something I want to tell you, though." His face began to go red, and his hands began to shake. He was nervous. The one and only Oliver Wood was nervous to tell me something.

"Anything." I gave him a sincere smile, and took a big sip of my drink. It didn't last long, though.

"I think I'm in love with you."

I spit out my drink, and to my utter horror, it was all over Oliver.

"Oh GOSH, I'm so sorry! It was unexpected I didn't mean to do that, I'm so sorry-"

"Ay lass, don't worry about it. I'll go change in my next free period, no big deal."

We finally made eye contact, and something in both of our faces had shifted. He had confessed something to me that I never would have expected, and I couldn't help but smile.

"Is that so?"

"Well, I mean, much to my distaste," he teased. He took a sip of his drink with a huge grin on his face.

"Right? Well, then, how did this come to be?"

"Professor Snape. In my amortentia potion-"

"Oh brother, not this again."

"Alright listen now, I'm not Percy, I'm not just going to kiss you out of nowhere.

With a burst of confidence, I met his eyes. "Why not?" I raised an eyebrow in a teasing gesture. "You're the only person I'd want that from."

His face softened, and before either of us knew it, our lips were attached, my stomach bursting with butterflies.

I could tell he felt it, too, as when we pulled away his face had gone completely red.

"Alright, well then, we should be along now." Oliver picked up his things in a chaotic manner, knocking over both of ours drinks and dropping several things.

I giggled at his attempt, and he dropped his head in defeat. We both burst into laughter the moment our eyes interlocked.

"So, will you finally start calling me Oliver?"

I smiled at him, "alright, fine. But this changes nothing."

He panicked a bit, "what do you mean this changes nothing?"

I kissed him softly once more, calming him down a bit. "I still hate you, Oliver Wood."

Our faces still close in distance, I couldn't help but notice his eyes constantly falling to my lips.

"Is that so?"

"Absolutely. I wouldn't expect any different from you."

"You're right, but behind the scenes? Can I make you mine?"

My cheeks got hot, and my heart rate picked up. "I wouldn't want anything else."

(A/N: HI EVERYONE!! I'm so sorry that this has taken me so long to get out and I'd like to say the next will be out soon, but that's unrealistic. I just started school again and I'm actually going to campus, so I don't have a lot of time plus homework. But!! It's not over yet. the story is probably going to take a turn at this point, but don't worry, I'll keep it as true to the story as I can. other than that, thank you so much for reading and your continuous support. I had no idea what would come from this, and I appreciate it so much!)
