I had rushed into the great Hall, my eyes searching the Gryffindor table for Oliver, but he wasn't there. I basically slid over towards Fred and George, the only other Gryffindors I knew besides Percy and Oliver.

"Hey, have you guys seen Wood?"

They both looked at me and smirked. "Here to confess your love, eh?"

"Sack it, have you seen him?"

Fred shook his head. "Nope, not since the last time we saw him."

I rolled my eyes, but made my way over the Ravenclaw table. Alyssa and Roger were emersed in conversation, but Jeremy smirked at me.

"Heather? A Scotsman's distinct smell? I daresay you've fallen for the enemy, Y/N."

I rolled my eyes and filled my plate. "I don't know anymore. I just, don't."

The next few days, I hadn't seen Oliver at all, not at breakfast, not in the halls, not even in the classes. It made me even sadder, and even more guilty. But on another note, I saw Percy a lot more. He wasn't trying to kiss me, he was his same old self, but he did talk to me more.

My brothers had heard all about the whole Amortentia thing, though. And almost everyone from Gryffindor and Ravenclaw had heard about it and Percy kissing me. Most were understanding, but some of them were absolutely ruthless. Good thing Slytherin hadn't heard about it.

When Fred and George had heard about it, they had no sympathy what-so-ever. Even after me and even Percy explained what happened, they still teased us.

"Never would have thought, it wasn't Oliver, it was one of his best friends." "Wow Percy, I had no idea you capable of getting a girlfriend, nice going."

Penelope Clearwater was furious with me, we all suspected she had a crush on him.

"What did you smell, Penelope?" I teased her.

She turned red and stormed away. Meanwhile, I was visiting the lake a lot more. No one bothered me there, and Percy didn't show up since the last incident.

One particular day, however, I made my way down to the lake to see someone already sitting there.

"Um, hello?"

They turned around. It just had to be, didn't it?

"Y/N." Oliver said, his voice hoarse. He just turned back to the lake, his face solemn.

I sat down next to him, the familiar feeling of butterflies, but also the feeling of guilt filling my stomach.

"Hey, it's been a while since I've seen you."

He nodded, not once removing his eyes from the lake.

I couldn't handle it anymore. "I didn't kiss Percy, he kissed me. I had no part in that, I don't even like him like that, we're just friends. I swear, I would never date him. Not that he's a bad guy, but he's just... Percy, y'know?"

An amused smile crept on Oliver's face. "I know, Y/N. I've heard. And it's not my business, anyway, who you kiss."

I looked down before also turning my head towards the lake. Only then did Oliver turn to me, but looked away just as I looked back towards him.

"Did you like it?" He asked, trying hard to keep a straight face.

"Sure, I just love it when my best friend randomly say they're in love with me and kiss me." My voice was dripping with sarcasm.

"Yeah, I bet." He couldn't stop the smile creeping across his face. "Percy is a real handsome guy, I'd even fall in love with him."

I playfully hit his shoulder and he laughed. This was new, it was different. We never usually laugh together, we only banter about quidditch and how good we're gonna do.

"I hate this." I said, surprising even myself.

He looked up at me, his eyebrows slightly furrowed and concern in his eyes. "Hate what? Us talking?"

I shook my head. "No, the opposite. We used to be such good friends, but Quidditch got in the way. Then that whole drama happened, I don't know about you but that killed me inside."

His face relaxed and he nodded. I met his eyes, and my stomach refilled with butterflies. He glanced towards the ground before picking at a piece of grass.

"Yeah, I felt the same way. I was being stupid, anyway. I took my joking around too far, and I should've known that we didn't talk like that anymore."

"I want to."

He met my eyes once again. He demeanor was a lot softer. "Yeah, me too."

I smiled softly, before readjusting to lean back on my hands. "Alright then, it's settled. We're enemies, I hate you, but really, we're friends again. No one can know! They'd get suspicious if we were being friends after seemingly hating each other, and then the Slytherins would probably call us out for sharing strategies or something I don't know."

Oliver smiled, the nodded. "Right then, no one knows about the quidditch captains friendship. We pretend we hate each other. Sounds like a plan."

We shook hands and headed back up to he castle, separating before we made our way back inside.

The rest of the week consisted of me and Oliver winking at each other after doing something shady. It was nice, everything felt suddenly normal again. But something was still bothering me; what was Oliver doing down at the lake that day?

I didn't ask, I didn't really want to know. I was just glad we were friends again, maybe even better friends then before. And neither of us dared bring up the Amortentia.

In a particularly boring potions class, however, something quite interesting occured. It was almost silent, except for Snape's drawling voice talking about another new potion, and the scratching of quills against parchment. My necklace let off a blue light for a second, and I knew exactly what was coming.

"Hiii Y/N!" Kiera's voice came out loud and clear. Some people jumped, other let out small giggles and awes. Snape, however, found none of this amusing.

"I miss you, I was gonna write to you, but I thought this would be easier because you're at wizard school. I can't wait until next year! That'll be so much fun. I heard about your Quidditch match, Michael sent a huuuge owl with a note and some delicious chocolate. Anyway, I miss you, I love you, and I'll see you!"

The blue light went off. My face was tomato red and the rest of the class was bursting with laughter at this point.

"SILENCE." Snape yelled, causing the entire class to quiet down fast. "Miss L/N, a communication necklace I see? Very humorous, I'll bet. 30 points from Ravenclaw, and I'd suppose a detention would do it.

Percy said just loud enough for Snape to hear, "it wasn't her fault she has a sister who wants to talk to her."

He clasped his hand to his mouth almost immediately. Snape shook his nasty head and took 15 points away from Gryffindor before continuing his lesson. No detention, shockingly, but that might've brought Ravenclaw down even more due to Snape. Later that night, I told Kiera she couldn't just do that, that she needed to use the schedule. She said she understood, but I don't think she really paid any attention.
