Oliver and I scrambled back up to the castle, chaotically and almost unsuccessfully. We kept dropping things, giggling, and even tripping a few times. Needless to say, we were a mess by the time we reached our respective common rooms.

Jeremy, Alyssa and Roger were gathered around a table, looking both hesitant and scared.

"Hi, Y/N. Um... you should probably sit." Jeremy had a wary tone to his voice, which made me nervous.

"What's going on?"

"Well, we were at lunch, and we didn't see you so we asked Michael where you were. And he said he didn't know, but he said you were probably with Oliver Wood. We asked him why he thought that, and.. well, you see-"

"What happened? Just spit it out!"

"He told everyone that you have a crush on Oliver Wood, and everyone heard," Alyssa said, rushed.

My face began to heat up. I wasn't worried about Oliver finding out anymore, because of what just happened, but we agreed to keep it a secret.

"Oh..."

"Everyone believes it. I mean come on, you two obviously flirt all the time-" Roger began.

"We do not!"

That was a lie.

"Ok, ok. But uh... Is it true?"

I looked away, and everyone caught on.

"Well, now everyone knows, so there's that."

"I swear I'm gonna kill him." I wasn't as mad as I usually would have been for something like that. Most likely because I was still in bliss from the earlier event.

"Let's just hope Wood doesn't find out and catch any ideas. He might try to use it against you," Jeremy said, eyes like daggers.

"Yeah, you're right. I'll watch out for that."

A week went by with getting odd glances and sneaking off every once in a while to go see Oliver. It was hard to pretend like we weren't friends at this point, because all I wanted to do when I saw him was give him a hug. But of course no one could know, especially not now.

Professor Quirrell stuttered through his usual speech, but that didn't really bother me. What bothered me was that we had this class with Gryffindor, and Oliver once again wasn't there.

In fact, he didn't show up at all. My decision to ask Percy was sealed when he gave me an awkward look.

"Stop hiding it, where's Wood?"

"Um, well... I don't know actually-"

"Percy you can't lie to me. I see right through you."

"Fine! Ok. He's in the common room, giggling with one of his fan girls."

"What?"

"You know, the girls who go crazy over him. He is the dreamiest Scotsman at Hogwarts, after all."

My mood dropped, and Percy's words became static. He just got done kissing me, and then he goes and flirts with someone else?

"Are you sure? Maybe its quidditch related."

"Y/N, I don't want to upset you because I know how you feel about him. But, she was upset because she heard what Michael said, and she obviously fancies Oliver."

My face went red, and now I was mad. Mad at Oliver, and mad at Michael.

"Who was it?"

"No, you aren't gonna be happy and I'm not about to be a victim to your ra-"

"Who was it?!"

Eyes were now on me, but I didn't care.

"Katie Bell, but you didn't hear it fro-"

I immediately stormed out of the classroom, Quirrell just backing up silently and nodding as I left.

It wasn't fair, of course it wasn't fair. It never is, not for me. We just got done with all that and now he's flirting with one of the Gryffindor chasers, I mean where was his professionalism?

I went straight up to the Ravenclaw tower, my full intention to stay there for the rest of the day. I couldn't describe my feelings, because no matter how mad I was at Oliver, I couldn't bring myself to hate him. But oh did I want to.

Of course, as I was leaving, I pass the one I wanted to hate in the hallway, rushing to class.

"Oh, Y/N!"

I didn't stop to even so much as glance at him, but he wasn't one to give up easily. He chased after me.

"Hey, what's going on? Is class over? Are you mad? Y/N?"

"Why don't you go ask Katie Bell, since you two seem to be so close."

"Whaddya mean? Of course we're close, we're on the same Quidditch team. What's the issue?"

"The issue is you two giggling and bantering in the Gryffindor common room. And that's fine of course, if it weren't for the fact that you were not only late to class again but she also fancies you. Everyone knows that, and I know that you do, too."

"Y/N it isn't anything like that."

My face softened and I would've turned around, if it weren't for Katie rushing down the stairs, messy and flustered. She gave me a small smirk and winked at Oliver.

For the first time, I looked him in the eyes. It was true.

"That looks bad but I swear, Y/N I would never-"

"I guess we don't have to pretend now. A week, Wood. A week and you let other girls get to you. 'Hottest Scotsman in school', yeah what did I expect, really? Goodbye, Wood."

I ran the rest of the way up the stairs, tears forming in my eyes. How did I let a boy make me feel this way?

(A/N OKAY SO, you know I had to add a bit of drama to keep it interesting but don't worrrryyy, it won't last that long. Also, the Percy hate is real bro 😔.
