The second I reached the common room door, I burst into tears. Nothing could ever go my way, not even for a week. I couldn't answer the riddle, my mind being too blurry.

It wasn't too long before I heard 2 pairs of footsteps, tumbling fast up the stairs. I quickly dried my eyes and composed myself.

"Y/N?" It was Alyssa and Percy.

I let out a wobbly sigh as they both hurried to my side.

"Percy told me what happened." Alyssa had an annoyed look on her face. "I get it, you thought I'd be mad, but all I wanted was for you to be honest with me. With all of us."

I nodded as another pitiful sob slipped out. "I'm sorry, I didn't want to risk my friendship with you guys, it was dumb."

"Well it means about nothing now. Wood that son of a-"

"Listen," Percy interjected, shooting Alyssa a sharp glare. "I don't think he did anything with her. When Katie walked in, she looked more annoyed then anything. And when she sat next to Angelina Johnson, I heard her say something along the lines of, 'he didn't even let me get close to him" or whatever."

Percy always had an annoying way of making me feel better. Probably because he was always supplied with drama despite not wanted to associate with that at all.

"Thanks, Perc'. I don't know, though, when she walked down the stairs she was all messy and shot me a wink and a smirk and ugh."

Alyssa furrowed her eyebrows in confusion, "whaddya mean? She was perfectly fine when she walked into class. Hair perfectly straight, clothes perfectly straight, everything about her perfectly straight to be honest."

Percy and I gave an agreeing nod.

"That's weird, though. Wood even agreed it looked bad."

"I don't know, Y/N. But we have to get to herbology before Professor Sprout kills us."

We all stood up, but not before Michael and a couple friends showed up.

"What're you doing here? Don't you have class," he said, in a snarky tone.

"Yeah, on my way there now. I'd actually already be there if you hadn't gotten in my way, so move."

"Have you been crying?"

"None of your business."

"No, tell me what happened."

"Michael-"

"Tell me!"

"Fine! Your stupid self has Katie Bell all over Oliver Wood, even after he kissed me. Maybe if someone had kept their mouth shut, she wouldn't have felt competition and would've kept her hands to herself, but no. Now move."

Michael raised his eyebrows and moved, putting his hands up in a defensive tone.

The rest of the day went along smooth, until dinner. We got to the dining hall a bit earlier than everyone else, and so had Percy and Wood, just like we planned.

Wood looked stressed, and the second our eyes interlocked, my heart broke into a million pieces.

I quickly made my way over to him, and he stood up. What I was expecting be a hug, was met with nothing but cold air.

"Oliver?"

"Can we talk about this somewhere private?"

I looked back at everyone else, each of them staring with wide eyes.

"Yeah, of course."

We made our way swiftly and silently to the lake, our common meeting spot at this point.
