Des had decided he felt like a bit of a spare prick just standing there doing nothing after the show that had gone on earlier.
He wanted so badly to go after her when she ran off in the forest.
"Please let me go, I helped her with her powers maybe I can-."
"Des, don't," Ar frowned, "I'll go, you guys just... clean the place up."
Ar then disappeared into the trees just like Seph had done moments before.
Des stood staring at the opening in the trees for what seemed like hours, daring himself to go after them.
"She still likes you, mate," Lo broke him from his daydream, "your plan didn't work."
"What?"
"I spoke to her earlier," Lo smiled, "you didn't put her off you, you just made her hate herself for still liking you."
"Great." Des sighed. "If it didn't work what was the point?"
"You thought it would, we all make mistakes." Ryan added, slinging his bag over his shoulder. "On another note, she just had to upstage me."
"Don't get jealous, Babe," Harry chuckled and kissed his head, "I thought what you did was cool, Seph's just emotionally unhinged."
"Yep," Lo nodded, "always has been."
The three of them laughed and started to pick up the debris from Seph's storm.
"Do you think she was really that angry with us all shouting?" Lena scowled at the ground.
Lo rubbed her back and smiled.
"I don't think she was angry," he shook his head, "I think she got stressed and pressure makes... well, a thunderstorm apparently."
Des kept quiet, he couldn't help but think he'd seen it all before, the stress, the crazy weather, but if it was all a lie and they really weren't meant to be together, surely he wouldn't have dealt with her powers.
"I can hear you thinking, Des," Ryan chuckled, "we'll figure this out, go home and we'll deal with this."
"I'm fine, I can help."
"Desmond," Lo raised an eyebrow at him, "go home."
Des took in a deep breath and flashed him a fake smile.
"I'll see you guys soon." He nodded.
Various responses were mumbled his way and then sent himself home.
He couldn't stop thinking about her, did Ar find her, were they both okay? Terrible situations they could have gotten into swirled around his head like a hurricane.
She would be fine, if course she would, she flew a plane for Christ's sake.
His constant reassurance didn't stop him grabbing his little ball of light and heading straight for her however.
The leaves crunched under his feet as he landed in the middle of the forest.
'What are they still doing here' he though to himself.
Seph and Ar were crouched behind a large hedge a few feet in front of him, clearly hiding from something, so he hung back.
He could hear shouting but couldn't make out any of the actual words until he heard Seph gasp and Zeus scream for her to show herself.
Des was frozen, he didn't know what to do, he couldn't over power Zeus and maybe he wouldn't hurt her, she was his daughter after all.
A huge gust of wind interrupted Des' thoughts and the sight of trees being ripped from their places in the ground made his stomach churn.
