The trees still seemed endless after what felt like a year of running.

Seph had always been the type to skive off PE and she was definitely a bigger girl so choosing to run... not one of her best decisions.

She eventually stopped, doubling over and putting her hands on her knees to take a deep breath.

'What was I thinking?' She screamed in her head. 'The necklace, Seph, the necklace.'

She let herself fall onto her bum, crossing her legs into a basket when she was comfortable.

The sky had gone pink again, only adding to Seph's worry and fear, if she could really control the weather how did she ever get ahold of it before.

Des calmed her down today, but how did she do it before she met him, or on days he wasn't there.

Could she do it all the time or only when she was angry?

There were so many questions buzzing around her head that no one could answer.

Well, maybe one person could.

Trusting Demeter would definitely be a tricky business, she was sneaky and obviously didn't like Des- however- she could know how to control these powers if that's how Seph got them.

She was in turmoil, Demeter was her mother, she wouldn't try to manipulate her desperation for help.

Would she?

"Seph!" Ar shouted from behind some trees.

Seph's eyes widened to the size of golf balls and she tried to move quickly.

"Don't even start," Ar said, rolling her eyes almost audibly, "you glow in the dark now, remember?"

Seph sighed and fell back onto the ground.

"Tell me one thing." Ar huffed as she sat down next to her. "Why run? You hate running and your necklace like... transports you wherever you want to go."

"I forgot." She muttered.

"You 'forgot' that you have a magical taxi?" Ar laughed.

"I was panicked, leave me be." Seph whined and leaned her head on Ar's shoulder.

Ar leaned down and kissed her best friend's head, Seph hadn't needed help a lot in life, especially not with something as crazy as-

"You're basically Mother Nature." She blurted out, eliciting a small chuckle from Seph.

"I don't think 'freaky weather powers' constitutes being Mother Nature, Ari." She smiled.

"Think about it, you make plants grow, you can make it rain and you could probably cause a hurricane," Ar said with her eyebrows raised, "set a fire and you'll be the bloody avatar, never mind Mother Nature."

Seph faked a laugh and sat up straight.

"Do you think that's what happened when Des called me?"

"What?"

"Remember I asked if you saw the rain?" Seph furrowed her eyebrows as she thought back.

"Yeah, I didn't see any." Ar replied.

"Maybe it happened then too, but because we hadn't been back as long the magic wasn't strong enough to cause a monsoon yet." Seph suggested.

"There's a fair chance it was," Ar agreed, "but please don't run away, we're all in the same weird boat."

Seph laughed at her friend, she always had a way of simplifying things for her when she over complicated her life.

"With all due respect, it wasn't even that bad," Ar joked, "I've seen Lo cause more wind after a dodgy take away."
