I have noticed that all girls want a good reputation, or at least most of them. Then there are others that also want a good reputation, but don't want to admit it. That's why they hide it behind these sayings. Wattpad is a lot of girls' social lives and I don't blame them. But, they chose to say mean things in a nice way. That's what this "rant" is about. Now let's decode what Wattpaders really mean. Hop on my trail of awesomeness.
1) Voting
What you think it means: Oh! They like my story, what a success!
What it really means: This person doesn't give a damn about my story, they just want to show respect by voting and keep the book in their library for decoration.
2) OMG! UPDATE PLEEASE!!!
What you think it means: Yay! Now I can update this story.
What it really means: They hate your story because it's really bad in some way, but they still want to show respect...again.
3) On Hold
What you think it means: I hope this story starts updating again.
What it really means: This story will never update again and will most likely be deleted soon. Only on a rare case will it update again.
4) Check Out My Story
What you think it means: They like my story, so they want me to check out theirs!
What it really means: This person doesn't care about your story, they just want reads.
5) If this story gets ___ reads and __ votes, I will update
What you think it means: I better vote for this story to update! It seems interesting!
What it really means: This writer just wants fame, they will never update this story.
6) Character Competition
What you think it means: Yay, I get to be in the story! I hope I win.
What it really means: The writer will chose their best friend as the character competition winner regardless of the circumstances. Unless you're the writer's BFF, it's no use in entering.
