Jake:
Everyone is already raving about Logan.
"Man, isn't that your girlfriend?" this guy from school asks me.
"Jake, you're up with a round of truth. Who's it going to be?" the MC yells into his mic for everyone to hear.
"Bethany," I say and look at her. Everyone turns to look at me asking my question.
"Do you still love me?" I can't help but ask because of all the drinks I've had.
Her lips parts and I can see by her body language that she's very uncomfortable.
"I, um, I'm not in the game," Beth says and I think that already gave me my answer.
"KICK HER OUT! KICK HER OUT!" the crowd chants.
"Not like I used to, I'm sorry Jake," she says, and feel like I can punch a hole through the wall.
"Oh shit," people start yelling from the crowd, because of her answer.
With rage in my bloodstream, I walk to the bar. Tonight is the night that I drown my sorrows.
"Jake," someone behind me says.
I look back and see that it's Briley.
"What do you want?" I mumble.
"You're already drunk," she says and I turn back to order something even stronger.
"Jake, please stop drinking. It's not going to heal the pain. You're going to feel like shit tomorrow," she says and I walk right past her. She's just a burden to me right now.
"Hey man, let's get another drink," Logan says while walking next to me.
"Why'd you have to kiss Briley? Now she's going to annoy me all night with all her preaching," I say to Logan and he chuckles.
"What's so funny?" I ask him, only seeing blurred visions of him and everyone else who seems to be moving extremely fast.
"I only kissed her to get back at Bethany for the both of us," he says ordering shots for us both.
"What?" I ask. He's confusing my non-sober brain.
"The hickey on her neck. Didn't you see the bruise? I bet you didn't give it to her, so I decided fuck that and just did what I do best," he says and I immediately turn around to find Beth. A hickey? From someone else? Why does she keep hurting me? I need to see it for myself, maybe Logan's only joking with me.
I see Nora and Jane chatting with two guys. Beth must be near. I almost fall to the ground, because of someone's empty cup on the dance floor.
When I look back up I see Brooklyn, Skyler, Briley, and Beth all dancing together. I think it's them, I don't even know. I keep and focus my eyes on Beth. I walk even closer and pretend to walk by them, spotting the hickey on Beth's neck.
You're kidding me, Beth. Who are you?
Was I never enough?
I walk upstairs and sit down at the other bar. I get myself another drink.
As the drink is being put in front of me I start to feel pretty dizzy. My head is spinning badly.
I notice someone sitting beside me, but I can't be bothered to even look to the side.
"Drink up handsome," this girl says.
I down my drink and look to the side and see a very vague image of a girl. It's Beth. Light brown or blonde hair I can't really see, but I can clearly see her blue eyes.
