Chapter 39

Logan:

I drag Jake out of the car and into my house. I'm not taking him home, his mom would get a heart attack seeing him like this. I force him to drink a gallon of water and tell him to shower because he reeks after tonight.

When he gets out of the bathroom, cleaned up, and more sober, I let him sleep in my bed.

I get myself cleaned up and just as I brush my teeth, my phone rings loudly and I sprint to answer it before it wakes my parents.

"Hey," I whisper into the phone. It's Fiona.

"Listen, we have a huge crisis, are you able to drive?" she asks me out of breath.

"Yeah, I guess," I respond, still confused.

"Wait no, I'll just come to your house," she says and I can hear gears changing in the background.

"What the hell is going on Fiona? If it's about Beth then I don't want to hear it," I answer.

"Cole and Skyler just drove off to take Briley to the hospital, could you please take care of Beth?" she finally asks me.

"Hospital? Why, what happened?" I ask.

"She has alcohol poisoning. Fice spiked her drink and she completely passed out. Cole and Sky are taking care of her. Nora and Jane had curfews and had to go home. Brooklyn's mother came to the club looking for her, because she tracked her down with Find An iPhone or whatever, because she didn't even know that Brooke was at the club with us," she says.

"What's your point, Fiona? You can take care of her, can't you?" I say. Beth hurt everyone close to me including me tonight.

"Cole wants me to be with him, but alright I'll just take Beth to her house and look after her," Fiona says and hangs up.

I'm wearing grey sweatpants and a shirt, but I'm going.

I want to take care of Beth, even after what she's done.

I care about her, I always have.

I drive fast to Beth's house and arrive there before Fiona does.

Fiona stops with her Mercedes.

She jumps out quickly and gets Beth out of the backseat. Beth's feet give in underneath her and she stumbles onto the sidewalk. Fiona tries to help Beth, but Beth is too heavy for Fiona's tiny body.

I go over to them and pick Beth up from the sidewalk.

"You came," Fiona says. "See this is why I needed you here."

"Anything for her," I say with a small smile.

"What's up with you two? I heard from Briley that the two of you made out today. I didn't expect that," Fiona says.

"Me neither but he's hot so why do you care," Beth mumbles while I'm still holding her.

Fiona and I both chuckle together.

"There's nothing between us. I don't know it just happened, but how did they get spiked? Weren't you guys looking out for each other? I've never seen Beth like this," I ask her kind of mad about the whole situation.

"We were watching out for each other. It was Fice. Look at this," Fiona says and shows me a text message from Fice.

"What the fuck. Maya kissed Jake?" I ask very confused.

"I don't know, I never saw Maya," Fiona says biting her lip.

"No, but it's impossible that Fice could've hooked up with Jake. When I looked up from downstairs I saw a girl with brown hair kiss him, but when I got upstairs after Beth went upstairs, he was kissing a girl with black hair. So you're telling me that Fice made out with Jake and then used a decoy for us all to catch him with?" I say running my fingers through my hair. This is stressing me out. Fice is still out there scheming.
