Daenerys and Jon observed the battlefield. More than half of it was occupied by walkers, and from how both armies converged, it was clear that the living were beginning to retreat within the walls, within the Stark fortress. Once everyone entered and the Winterfell gate closed, it would soon be knocked down by the walkers.

- Something has to be done - Jon did not seem ready to give up.

- But what if it doesn't work? - asked the silver-haired one. Jon had never seen Dany so pessimistic.

- We will die with dignity. We will die fighting. Together.

It was at that moment that both glimpsed a rain of burning arrows; it was Arya's sign indicating to Daenerys that the walkers had entered Stark Fortress. Thus, the Dragon Queen was supposed to fly with her dragons into the forest to pick up the women, elders, and children and flee to The Eyrie. The sign also indicated "RETREAT" to the warriors, who should abandon the battle and also go to the forest. Except those who would like to serve as a distraction for walkers...

- It's the signal! - Dany cried, amazed.

-But it doesn't look like they entered the castle, does it?

- By looking at the position of our people, it certainly doesn't.

-Then something else must have happened -Jon shook his head. - In any case, we should start following the second plan.

Daenerys did not react. It was then that Jon realized that two dragons were needed to carry out the new tactic, and Rhaegal was seriously wounded.- What do we do with Rhaegal, my queen?- I... I don't know, Jon. I can't leave him here, and if we take out his spear he'll die.-But we can't leave it there, either- concluded the bastard.

"We should leave him here, he won't be able to get away, and of course Daenerys staying here with him is not an option," Jon thought. But how do you ask the Dragon Queen to abandon one of her children?Jon walked over to Dany, and hugged her, while Drogon kept an eye out to kill any walkers who would get even minimally close to them.

- You know what to do - the boy whispered-. You know.

- I know, but that doesn't make it easier - A tear fell down Daenerys's cheek-. Unless...- Unless what?- Unless you ride Drogon and we follow the plan without Rhaegal. I will stay here with him. The walkers are concentrated around the surroundings of Winterfell, I am more or less safe here and I can... defend myself with... - Dany reached down and picked up the piece of wood again - with this.Jon hugged his queen again. It was a stupid idea.- Daenerys... you would both die.- And what else can I do, if not? - The girl with the silver hair was beginning to despair.- Look, we'll go with Drogon. You and I. We will put everyone safe, and then we will bring healers from The Eyrie here to treat Rhaegal. You will have to trust the dragon to have enough strength to stay alive during that time. Riding Drogon, it won't take long, though.
