New Resistance Part 2

The Shadow crosses his arms and shakes his head. He strokes his chin with his right hand. He tells Poe that he is impressed by his skills to utilize the Force Nexus to spy on the First Order and tells him that if he had told him what he was doing they could have honed that ability even more.

Maz nods. She agrees with the Shadow and tells Poe that she is equally impressed by Poe's growth.

Poe blushes and smirks. He tells them that it was nothing.

Finn says that if Snoke is away from the First Order then right now would be the best time for the New Republic Armada to take down the First Order.

The Shadow shakes his head. He tells them that galactic dominance isn't Snoke's end goal.

Poe and Finn's face contort in confusion.

Maz asks the Shadow what is Snoke's end goal with all of this.

The Shadow shakes his head. He tells them that right now isn't the time to reveal that. He tells them that if he were to tell them now it would break their resolve to finish their training.

Poe angrily asks the Shadow why are they training if it isn't to stop the First Order.

The Shadow chuckles. He tells Poe that this war of man and machine isn't the war they should be fighting. He tells Poe and Finn that the TRUE war is a war of the FORCE. He tells them that the Force is all that matters... all that ever mattered. He tells them that Snoke doesn't care about dominating the galaxy and wiping out the Jedi as the Sith had. He tells them that Snoke's goal is much grander and that all that stands between Snoke and his Knights of Ren are standing right here: a neophyte Force user, a blind pilot, a homicidal droid, a pirate queen, and a SHADOW of a forgotten... his voice trails off. He tells them that if they aren't able to complete their training then Snoke and the Knights of Ren will be able to turn them.

Poe defiantly tells the Shadow that he would never join the Knights of Ren or Snoke.

The Shadow chuckles. He tells Poe that he was once like him. He tells him that his love for the New Republic is what would lead him down the dark path as it did himself. He tells Poe that he had once committed great atrocities to preserve the Old Republic. He tells him that at first he had taken up arms to protect others only to have his devotion and love turned against him. He tells him that he had used such tactics as a dagger in the hearts of others, turning them to the Dark Side. He tells Poe that the same tactics will be utilized on him.

Finn asks what about himself.

The Shadow tells Finn that he already know what his weakness is.

Finn whispers Rey's name.

The Shadow nods. He lowers his arms to his side. He tells Finn that as long as his mind is on her then he is at risk of falling to the Dark Side.

Finn defiantly tells the Shadow that he won't give up on Rey.

The Shadow nods. He tells Finn that he shouldn't. He tells him that what he'll need to do is learn how to harden his heart.

Finn looks at the Shadow puzzled.

The Shadow tells Finn that he'll understand.

Maz asks Poe and Finn what will they do, will they stay or will they leave and abandon their training.

Finn looks at Maz.

Poe opens his mouth to respond. He looks away and towards the sky.

Finn quickly glares towards the same direction as Poe. He tells Poe that he senses it too.

Maz looks towards the same direction as Poe and Finn. She says that she senses nothing.

Poe points towards the direction he and Finn are looking. He tells her to concentrate right there.

Maz closes her eyes and concentrates. She says that she still senses nothing. Her eyes widen in shock as she says that she senses it now. She asks what is it.

Poe tells her that he doesn't know. He focuses.

We see images of a damaged alien starfighter and a blue skinned female in the cockpit. Flashing red lights and alien symbols scrolling on the control console.

Poe tells the others what he sees. He gasps. He tells them that he doesn't recognize any of it, yet he does recognize when a ship is about to crash.

Finn's eyes widen in shock. He exclaims that they have to help her.

Poe nods. He asks how are they supposed to help her.

Maz agrees. 

The alien starfighter drops out of hyperspace as it drifts towards the planet.

Poe exclaims that the ship just dropped out of hyperspace. He tells them that once it hits the atmosphere it'll burn up on reentry if it isn't properly stabalized.

Finn says they have to get to the Fortune Runner.

Poe tells Finn that there's no time for that.

The Shadow asks Poe and Finn if they want to save the pilot of that starfighter.

Poe and Finn both nod.

The Shadow tells them that he'll leave them with a few words of wisdom. He tells them that if they want to save her then they need to use what they have learned. Then he vanishes.

Poe glares at where the Shadow was standing. He says annoyedly that that was helpful.

Finn asks Maz what are they going to do.

Maz shrugs. She tells Finn that she is just as stumped as they are about what to do.

Finn turns to where he first sensed the star fighter. He closes his eyes and reaches out his left hand. He whispers to himself about calming his mind and allowing the Force to flow through him like a stream through a mountain pass. He says the force is like a gentle breeze across the plain that can transform into a hurricane at a moment's notice.

We see the starfighter beginning to slow down. It manages to get caught in the planet's atmosphere.

Poe tells Finn that he managed to catch it, yet it isn't slowing down.

Finn's face contorts with strain. He tells Poe that he is aware. He tells Poe that he needs to see what he sees.

Poe nods. He tells Finn that he understands. He walks over to Finn and places his hand on his shoulder. He concentrates and projects what he sees into Finn's mind. He tells Finn that he'll need to learn to pilot the starfighter in order to help him land it.

Finn nods. He holds up his right hand in a typing position as Poe projects the images of the cockpit's consoles into his mind. He asks Poe if he knows how to pilot this thing.

Poe smirks. He says assuredly that he can pilot anything.

Finn nods.

Poe begins to talk Finn through the landing process.

Finn motions his right hand on Poe's instructions.

The starfighter plummets to the planet's surface. The landing gear activates. The starfighter's maneuvering thrusters activates. It begins to stabilize as it approaches the planet's surface. It lands in front of the temple.

Poe smiles excitedly. He slaps Finn on the shoulder as he excitedly tells him that he's done it.

Finn smiles excitedly.

Poe and Finn share a bro handshake.

Maz tells Poe and Finn that she's proud of how far they've come in their training.

Poe tells Finn they better hurry.

Finn nods.

They both rush towards the starfighter.
