New Resistance Part 1

Poe is dressed in light brown robe shirt and white pants.

Maz is sitting beside him. She gently tells him to calm his thoughts.

Poe is annoyed by her words as he frustratingly responds that he IS calm and that her telling him to calm his thoughts is making him NOT CALM HIS THOUGHTS.

Maz glares at him for a moment. She scolds him for not adhering by her advice.

Just then Finn walks into the temple archway with H-8 beside him. He spots Poe attempting to meditate. He asks how is his training coming along.

Poe and Maz stand and turn their attention towards Finn.

Maz comments on how Finn is back.
She removes a bracelet from her wrist and hands it to Poe. Under her breath she says DAMN IT.

Poe smirks and tells Maz thank you. He happily tells Finn that he's happy to see him.

H-8 let's out a mocking laugh. He asks Finn if he gets it. He says that the blinded one can't see.

Maz shakes her head.

Finn nods and tells him yes that was the joke.

H-8 looks at Finn confused.

Maz tells Finn that Poe's training is coming along slowly. Too slow for her tastes.

Poe frustratingly comments that if he had a better teacher.

Maz turns to Poe and glares at him.

A chill traverses Poe's spine. He apologizes to Maz.

Maz smiles. Triumphant. She tells him now, that's better.

Finn worriedly asks what seems to be the problem.

Poe looks at Finn dejected and says that he doesn't have a problem.

Maz comments that he does have a problem. He refuses to feel the Force.

Poe turns to her and angrily tells her that's all he's doing is FEELING the Force. He goes on to mockingly say feel the Force for this and FEEL the Force for that. Use the Force for this and USE the Force for that. He asks when he and Finn will be allowed to rejoin the fighting.

The Shadow appears and coldly tells Poe that if either of them wishes to leave they can.

Maz looks at the Shadow confused. She asks if he's sure. That neither Finn nor Poe are finished training.

The Shadow nods.

Poe looks at the Shadow overjoyed. He asks Finn if he heard what their Master has said.

Finn looks at the Shadow worriedly. He turns to Poe and tells him that he isn't leaving.

Poe looks at Finn confused. He asks him why.

Finn tells Poe that they still have a little more to learn before they leave.

Poe angrily tells Finn that this is about Rey.

Finn begrudgingly agrees. He tells Poe that this isn't just about Rey. He tells him that it is also for the New Republic, for Han and Leia. He tells him that it is also for Luke. He tells Poe that their training is to honor those that came before them that fought and died so they can stand where they are now.

Poe angrily asks Finn if he is staying.

Finn nods.

Poe turns to walk away.

Finn yells for Poe to stop. He tells Poe that he understands how he feels.

Poe turns and looks at Finn confused. He asks Finn how it feels to be blind.

Finn nods. He tells Poe, that and much more. He tells him he understands how it feels to be scared. To be scared of the unknown is a frightening thing. He tells Poe that there is a vast wellspring of power at his fingertips and that it is hidden under a layer of fear. He says he was there too, afraid to let the Force in. He tells him that he is still scared of the Force and what it can do. He tells Poe that he is still scared of Phasma and the First Order even though he has fought and evaded them on multiple occasions. He tells Poe that HE helped him through that fear. He tells him that Leia and Rey did as well, and that THAT is why he is here training now.

Poe sighs heavily. He tells Finn that he isn't scared of the Force.

Finn smirks. He asks Poe that if that were the case then he could levitate more than just a pebble. He chuckles.

Maz chuckles.

H-8 lets out a hearty laugh.

Poe begrudgingly says that it isn't funny.

The Shadow says that it was a bit funny.

Poe angrily tells the Shadow that nobody asked him.

Finn tells Poe that the Force can be scary. He tells him that even after all of their training, he still fears the Force and what he could do with it. He tells Poe that if they aren't careful that the Knights of Ren would come for them too and try to turn them to the Dark Side rather they want to turn or not.

Poe nods. He tells Finn that he isn't scared of the Knights of Ren.

The Shadow interjects and tells Poe that he should be. He tells Poe that Snoke has started calling to Finn and that he would be next.

Poe's face contorts in confusion. He asks what he means.

Finn says that Snoke has started whispering to him. He tells Poe that their Master thinks that they could use that to their advantage to distract Snoke from the New Republic.

Poe smirks. He tells them that Snoke isn't leading the First Order. He states that Snoke has been missing for nearly a year and that Hux and Kylo have been leading the First Order along with the First Order Council.

Maz asks Poe how does he know this.

Poe points at a dark room on the far side of the temple. He tells them that he has been using the Force Nexus to PEER in on the First Order from time to time.

Maz comments on how impressive that is.

The Shadow crosses his arms. He uses one hand to caress his chin.

Poe looks at the Shadow nervously. He apologizes for using his time for something so frivolous.
