"You know, I honestly feel bad for my brother. I mean...imagine if your older brother comes at me and you're like deeply in love with me, but he's way cuter and I decide to kiss him instead."
Nate laughs at my words. He still seems to be choosing a song on the Jukebox. "Well, that's not gonna happen because I am way hotter than my older brother."
"Hmm. I don't know," I say as I watch him finally pick a song. "I've never seen your brother before so I can't really say anything just yet."
Nate gives me a smirk and pulls me closer as he lets his back lean on the Jukebox. "I still think you'd fall for me. Sure. He can be hotter than me but..." His lips come closer to my neck making me shiver and smile. His whisper makes my legs weak as he says, "No one is as fun as I am, my love."
I giggle and pull away. I put a finger on his chest with raised brows and say, "That's enough, PonyBoy. It's not even midnight yet." This makes him smile and that's enough for me.
I turn and say, "Let's get back to eating our fri--" I stop in my tracks when my eyes recognize a girl with brown hair. I let a smirk start at my lips and stop Nate as he starts at our seats. "Wait. Nate."
"What is it?" His eyes follow my gaze and he says, "Hey! It's Annabelle and Max. Oh man, we ended up in the same place as them!"
I chuckle as Annabelle's eyes fall on mine. I smile even wider as her eyes show a hint of worry and her body gives signs of wanting to run away.
Well, not today, Missy...
"Babe," I say. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Belle is telling Max something and I know that she's probably saying sorry for whatever I'm about to do.
"Oh yeah..." Nate says with a smirk.
With this, my feet quietly run up their table and I slam my hands on their table making Max jump. "Hey, guys!"
Belle's fingers hold the bridge of her nose as she sighs. "Oh my goodness here we go again..." This makes me laugh even louder at the memory of her first attempt to date back in eight grade. I think I might have scared the dude away, but it was worth it.
Nate hops on the booth from behind Max and blows on his ear. This makes Max swap him away and Nate laughs loudly. "Hey man! What a coincidence, don't you think, love? I mean...our best friends here on a date while their best friends accidentally take a bite of their pie!" Nate lets his finger run through the wipe cream on Max's pie and licks it.
"Well," Max says with a sigh. "I can see why you two get along..."
"Got any room there, kid?" I say to Belle. She starts to say no, but I still push her over and say, "Thanks, love." I observe their plates and laugh. "Pie? Who eats pie on their first date?"
"We do," Belle says annoyingly. Nate jumps in the small space next to Max and gives me a smile. Our eyes shining recklessly.
Man. I love this guy.
"Is pie the only thing in your guys' agenda for tonight? It's barely seven in the evening," Nate says as he looks at his watch and takes another bite of Max's pie.
"Not everyone has their first dates as wild as yours, Nate," Max says as he takes the fork from Nate's hand.
"Ugh," I say as I take another bite of Belle's pie. "You are so ancient!"
"Yeah," Nate says. "Is that how life is in Spain?" Nate and I share a laugh.
"Says the guy that is in an old-fashioned diner with his girlfriend," Max says annoyingly now. Only Nate knows how to break this dude.
