I GASPED looking around my eyes scanning the room this was Damian's room, I looked down realizing I could breathe easily. My wounds were healed. How long have I been out for? I got up slowly and quietly, looking around for Cerebus. He isn't in here either, where did they go? I thought opening the door of his bedroom slowly. His house was a disaster, his furniture was thrown everywhere and broken in multiple places through his home, deep scratches were in the wood floors. I felt my heart drop into the bottom of my stomach, something was off. I scanned the room to see my phone sitting on the counter charging.
I kept my eyes alert as I slowly entered the hall, my feet softly padding against the scratched floors. I was almost there; I could see my phone blinking blue meaning I had a few notifications. I lowered my stance to a crouch as I heard rummaging towards the back leading towards the backyard. I quickly grabbed the phone off of the counter and walked back to Damian's room shutting the door quietly.
Whoever is here, doesn't know I am awake, I still have the element of surprise. I thought as I looked around the room seeing some clothes to the side of the bed. These didn't look familiar but were to small to be Damian's. Did he buy clothes for me? I smiled realizing they were the perfect size. I slid on the tight high waisted black jeans, that glided up my legs smoothly and effortlessly. There was bright reflective neon green stripe on either side of the pant leg running down to the calf turning into 4 silver buttons. I grabbed the solid black sweetheart tank top and noticed it had a built-in bra.
I saw some combat boots by the side of the bed and threw on the socks and shoes. I laced the shoes quietly and grabbed my phone looking at the text message from Damian.
If you read this, I need you to read carefully
Someone broke in the house and is looking
for the journal They DO NOT know you
are there, I stepped out to take Cerebus
For a walk.
From what I can tell there is about fifteen demons
scouting the entire house, Six, are outside casing
the place, looking through the windows. Stay low,
go unseen, the journal is under the mattress.
I need you to get out of the house as quickly as
possible. If you can get out and run to the car
you should be able to get out. I will make a
distraction. Get in the car and take Cerebus with you.
Until we meet again love. Ciao
I stared blankly at the phone seeing that the date now said September 15th . My eyes widened in shock. I'VE BEEN OUT FOR TWO MONTHS! I didn't have time to asks questions as I heard sniffing at the bottom of Damian's door. I lifted the mattress quietly and yanked the book out quickly. I stepped back on the heels of my feet as I walked backward slowly. I looked around and saw a window to my left. I let out a quiet breath that I didn't know I was holding as I heard the sniffing growing more intense.
I walked over to the window seeing that I was at the back of the house. I tried to lift the window up but it didn't budge. I dragged my fingers along the edges of the window to find that it had a lock on the middle of it. I lifted it and pulled it to the hear an audible pop. That little pop was enough to alert the hound outside of the door. I lifted the window up and punched the screen out looking down to see it was about an 8-foot drop.
