I hobbled into Damian's house to be greeted by a cheerful Cerebus and looked around the house.
"Where is Damian?" I asked to no one in particular, seeing Cerebus start walking towards the bedroom I stayed in. I walked in to see Damian sitting in a chase across the room reading something intensely.
"Hey, can I talk to you?" I asked seeing him look up from his book and up at me.
"Sure." He said nonchalant
"Are you lying to me?" I asked sitting down on the bed.
"What would possibly get out of lying to you?" He asked putting his book on the table to the right of him.
"Did you approach me at the club willingly or did you have an ulterior motive. Was our meeting really by happenstance?"
"I approached you because there was a guy attacking you." He said getting up and walking towards me. I moved closer to the headboard.
"There was no other reason? Like you just so happened to be at the park I was at?"
"You caught me, I approached you because you were beautiful."
"Stop joking Damian, I'm serious what was your motive."
"Who put thoughts in your head, did you say your goodbyes?"
"Stop dodging the question Damian, what IS your motive."
"I approached you because you are a supernatural that should not be in this plane of existence, I was told by Abaddon that I needed to kill you or bring you back with me. But I couldn't do that." He said sitting on the bed next to me, I looked at his beautiful eyes, he was telling the truth, his eyes didn't waver as he stared into mine.
"I wish you did kill me." I say tears slipping down my cheeks and on top of my pants.
"Why would I do that Rochelle?" He asked looking at me, I turned my head and looked at the floor.
"I have nothing anymore Damian, I searched for my father for seven years, I was so heartbroken that I was hospitalized, the friend that said he loved me so much is the one that betrayed me. I have no reason to be here anymore, please just end my pain Damian." I said looking up at him my tears falling quicker as he cupped his hands around my cheeks brushing the tears away with his thumbs.
"You are not alone; I am here and I'm not going anywhere sweetheart. We are in this together and I need your help." He stated squeezing my cheeks softly.
"What if you are lying to me too?" I asked sniffling, he smiled softly and released my face standing up and walking to the wall across from the bed leaving me dumbfounded.
"I am going to walk three steps forward getting closer to you. "
"Wait what are you doing?" I asked as he took three steps toward me. He had a serious expression on his face.
"I will walk another four steps to be right in front of your knees." I nodded not sure what happening, as he said he walked the four steps and stood in front of me.
"I want to kiss you but I won't unless you ask me too." He said, he hasn't lied this entire time. He was trying to prove that he wouldn't lie to me.
"What if instead of kissing me I want you to kill me." I asked he smiled and crossed his arms.
"I can't do that sweetheart." He said his expression changing to a tender one.
"Why not?" I asked breathlessly as he pushed me down on to the bed his lips inches from mine. His beautiful eyes bore into mine as I stared up at him anxiously.
"Because I'm selfish, I care to much about you to let you leave me so easily." He said firmly. I smiled and touched his cheek feeling his warm cheek lean into my palm. I pressed my lips into his softly, he hungrily kissed me back. I could feel his tender bites across my bottom lip as he let his lips travel across my cheek to my jawline, the smooth texture of his lips leaving a radiating heat on my skin. He moved his sensual kiss across my jawline to the crook of my neck. I sighed gently wrapping my arms around his neck. What is it about you Damian that you make me loose all my inhibitions. I am not usually like this, why am I so captivated by you? As I was lost in my thoughts, he pulled away mischievously smiling simply saying:
"Let's train."
I stared blankly at the ceiling catching my breath before I got up and followed him into the living room. He stopped and looked at me curiously.
"Can you walk a little better or does it still hurt?" He asked, I placed weight on my leg not feeling searing pain. Whatever Dominque put on my left must be working.
"It feels fine for now, why?"
"Good, lets begin." He said walking outside to the back yard and down some steps to a house in the back. This house is amazing. I thought to myself as he opened up to reveal an empty room. I let my eyes take in the pristine room. The floor was a beautiful light bamboo that led to the sage colored walls. There was a feathery light green rug in the center of the floor with intricate patterns on it. The patterns looked vaguely familiar, I looked at it drawn, I walked towards it tilting my head.
"I know this, it feels familiar." I said not taking my eyes away from the spot.
"You should, it was the incantation that Hela used many centuries ago." He said softly, almost a whisper. I walked into the center of the pattern feeling a warmth envelope around me like a comforting hug. A soft green glow lit the room, its soft pastels of green and light blues danced around the room like ballerinas in a ballroom. The colors reflected in my eyes as I watched the colors form into a delicate silhouette a woman's figure stood before me, her body made of stars and crimson. The contrast of colors was unsettling as she reached her hand out to me.
"Come child, it is time you learn what it means to be an enchantress." She said her voice sounding cosmic, it was a soothing bell sound that echoed in the room. I reached my hand out hesitantly looking around to see Damian was gone as well as the room. It was nothing but black.
"Where are we?" I asked feeling myself shiver at the shear cold that was in this void.
"We are in Abruptum, we do not live and we do not die here. This is what the humans call purgatory." She said motioning to the black void surrounding us the only light was the soft green glow from her form which appeared a an organic shape much like a flame.
"I though purgatory was supposed to have some kind of quest for the person to, I don't know cross over, like some kind of moral dilemma."
"That is true for those that have a desire to find where they belong, you child have emptiness as shown here. You have wished for death many times and as such you have built this void in your mind. Your moral dilemma isn't something that will be fixed with a physical interaction. Your moral dilemma is your memories, we will delve into your essence and will awaken you."
"My memories? I have a lot of good memories why would those be the cause of my dormant enchantress, how will any of this help me?" I asked seeing her form disappear and reappear meters from my face, her face was not human it was empty of human features.
Any other person would have screamed but I have seen to many horror movies to be scared.
"Not all your memories are kind are they child?" She asked sliding her long fingers up my face finally resting her thumbs over my eyes. I jerked my head away.
"I'm thirty years old stop calling me child, and what human has nothing but happy memories?" I asked as I heard a loud laugh come from her.
"But you are a child, I have been here eons, I am over 21 centuries old so to me you are nothing but a seed just beginning to bloom. And to answer your question; no human has just good memories and no human has just dreadful memories." She said placing her fingertips over my eyes again.
"You are on your own child, find your way back to me."
"Wait what are you doing-" I was cut off my her digging her thumbs into my eyes, I heard the sickening squish as her nails puncture my retina, I screamed in pain as I collapsed to my knees, I tried to move but I was frozen in front of her.
"Find me child." Was the last thing I heard before the pain ceased.
