21. Destroying His Trust (Past)

Hyun Bin and Mama Hyun left the apartment in the morning. Mama Hyun invited Hyun Bin to have breakfast outside because she has something to tell Hyun Bin without interruption. Mama Hyun has important things to discuss with her son.

What is so important about? Mama Hyun holds a file containing documents.

"Bin, did you know your wife came from South Korea last night?"

Hyun Bin nodded his head. He looked at Mama Hyun's face, he did not understand why his mother was so serious.

"Do you remember what happened when you were sick? Bin got married to her?"

"Of course." Hyun Bin nodded his head.

"As a mother, I am deeply concerned about you. You are my son. When you are hurt, I also get hurt. Especially about your wife, I don't want you to get hurt. You must know that your wife is married to you because she needs money."

Hyun Bin nodded his head. At first, he knew that his Nae Sarang married to him for money. But later, he was convinced that his Nae Sarang had learned to love him.

"I believe she loves me."

"Are you sure?" Mama Hyun looked at her son's face.

"Your Halmeoni is very smart. I'm not agree with her way. This contract is really biased. When Halmeoni arranged the marriage, she made your wife tied all the loose end. Your wife had to sign this document."

Hyun Bin continued to read more details of the contract.

"Just look at the contract. If your wife asks for a divorce from you, she will not get anything from you, and vice versa. Luckily, you don't have a child with her. She has no rights over the child if get divorced. Hmmm.... She is really tied up. Whether she likes it or not, she has to stick to this marriage."

Hyun Bin was silent for moment.

"Bin... She had to act to show her love for you. That's why when you left her to get treatment, she cried because she scared of you if suddenly you will be rejecting her, she could not get a single penny."

"Why did Mama say that?"

"She is willing to do anything for the sake of her family. Bin should know that she loves her Eommoni very much. She doesn't care who she marries and willing to withstand being beaten by you. It is because of money. She must stick with you all her life."

Hyun Bin sighed when he remembered the last incident.

"Mama... What are you trying to convey?"

"Bin, I don't want you to be disappointed soon. I want Bin to know the truth. Your wife is trapped in this marriage. You don't know whether she likes to be here or not. If you were sick, it's okay. But now you are getting better. Can your dignity accept that your wife is forced to stay in this marriage because of money? Whereas her heart is somewhere else."

"Mama... I know you hate her so much." Said Hyun Bin.

Deep down in his heart, he did not want to accept what Mama Hyun was trying to convey about his Nae Sarang.

"Bin, I want the best for you. I don't want you to be frustrated. I want to take care of your heart. Let's try to recall back when you asked her to come here, she never showed up and made up many reasons. During your treatment, did she even bother to talk with you? She never answered your call. She refused to talk to you."

Hyun Bin remembered while he was still suffering from severe pain, he called Nae Sarang but Nae Sarang did not show up either. He asked Mama Hyun to contact Nae Sarang, he wanted to talk to Nae Sarang but could never talk with her. Later, he did not mention Nae Sarang's name again.

"Mama... Now, she's here." Said Hyun Bin. He was so relieved when his Nae Sarang was here with him.

"I hope she comes for you." Mama Hyun provoking her son.

"Why did Mama say it like that?"

Mama Hyun took out an envelope and handed it to Hyun Bin.

"Probably she came for this? You'll never know."

Then, Hyun Bin continued to read the letter. His face instantly turned red. His jealousy rose.

"This guy is not so far from here. He's just across the border. Bin, you don't know if she came here for you or this guy."

His mind was blank. The contents of the letter were an offensive for him.

"What is your opinion, Mama?" Hyun Bin asked.

"I don't want Bin to divorce her. But... Bin must find out, whether she really loves you or she just wants your money. Now it's a good timing. Why don't you offer her freedom?"

Mama Hyun tried to incite her son.

"You don't want to find out what is really in her heart?"

Hyun Bin was in dazed and confused.

'Did Nae Sarang really love me? Nae Sarang never said, 'I love you'.'
