28. Sweetheart, Hyun Areum (Present)

"Annyeonghaseyo!"

A little girl was heard shouting outside of Ye Jin's apartment. She quickly wiped away the tears on her face. Then, she opened the door of her apartment.

A six-year-old girl rushed to hug Ye Jin.

"Eomma! Eomma! We're back."

"My sweetheart ... Where did you go?"

"I'm walking around the park with Yonna imo, Sam samchon and Baby Elijah."

"Huh... Did you enjoy yourself?"

Ye Jin asked while hugging the small body and kissing this little girl multiple times.

"Mwah...mwah...my sweetheart."

The little girl giggled.

"Eomma... I'm feeling tired."

"Tired? Pity you, sweetheart."

Yoona has just entered Ye Jin's apartment. She just smiled when looked the intimacy between mother and daughter.

"Where is Baby Elijah?" Ye Jin asked the little girl.

"Elijah is sleeping. He is with Sam samchon." The little girl replied her mother.

"How was she? Was she very naughty?" Ye Jin asked Yoona.

"Were you a good girl?" Ye Jin asked the little girl too.

"Eonni, Areum is such a good girl." Yoona answered on Areum behalf.

"Were you a really good girl today, sweetheart?" Ye Jin asked again. Her eyes were radiant, overflowing with love for her daughter.

"That's right Eomma. I'm a good girl. Eomma, just now I helped Yoona imo to look after Baby Elijah. I can be a big sister to protect Baby Elijah." Areum replied.

Areum is such an intelligent little girl. She also very talkative with anyone. Her curiosity is piqued. Maybe these traits she inherited from her father. All parents must be very proud to have a child like Areum.

Areum's behaviour that resembles his father makes Ye Jin sometimes touched and reminiscing about past. Like father, like daughter. Sometimes Ye Jin sees Areum's facial expression just exactly like Hyun Bin.

"Eomma, I'm sleepy."

Ye Jin stared at Areum who was yawning.

"Yonna ah, please have a sit. I'll put Areum to bed first."

Yoona nodded her head.

Ye Jin and Areum went into the bedroom. The only bedroom. So, Areum sleeps with Ye Jin on a queen size bed.

Hyun Bin's head mark on Ye Jin's pillow is still visible. Ye Jin avoided looking at her pillow. She accompanies Areum to the bathroom and then ordered Areum to sleep. She put on the blanket around the little girl's body and turned off the lights. Only the bedside lamp is switch on.

"Goodnight, Eomma!"

"Sleep tight, Sweetheart!"

Ye Jin came out from her bedroom and joined Yoona who was already serving two hot chocolate cups.

"Eonni, I hope you don't mind if I'm asking something.... I saw a man coming down the lift when we came up." Yoona suddenly asked.

Ye Jin kept quiet. She sipped down the hot chocolate.

"Is he? Is he...someone? ... Eonni, I saw your wedding photo on the bookcase. No beard and the long hair, that man look a bit like your ... ex-husband?"
