Council Meetings, Unfriendly Greetings

"Chalset?" Anakin asked, tugging at the sleeve of my robe.

We were standing outside of the council room back at the Jedi Temple. Qui-Gon was inside informing the council of the supposed sith lord we had encountered, and asking about the hopes of Anakin being trained as a Jedi even though he was far too old to start. Obi-Wan was in there as well, and Anakin and I were waiting for them to finish.

"Yes?" I asked pleasantly, blushing and smiling softly to myself.

Anakin looked at me oddly. "Where did you go just then? It's like you just randomly zoned out."

I shook my head slightly to come out of the intense conversation I was having just then. "Oh, I was just talking to Obi-Wan that's all. When you're a Jedi, you're able to form these strong bonds with people and talk to them without actually speaking. Just by using your mind."

"So you're saying you were talking to Obi-Wan just then?"

"Yeah."

"OooooOooo" he was grinning. "Someone's in loooOOove."

I blinked, my blush growing deeper. I looked down at the floor so he couldn't see it and tease me even more. "What?! That's crazy, I'm not in love!" I said defiantly, even though it came out too fast and wasn't very strong of a statement.

Truth be told when it came to Obi-Wan, I didn't know what to think. I liked him, and nothing could be done about that, but love? I wasn't sure what it even felt like to love or if that even was what I was feeling. At some points in my life, I felt more droid then human because of what I was taught about not forming attachments.

"Liar! You two were holding hands on the ship and giving each other eyes!" he said excitedly.

"Wha--how did you know we were holding... I was comforting him Anakin. Duh."

He placed his hands on his hips and stretched his neck out, peering at me through squinted eyes. "Yeah right." he snorted. His whole body demeanor changed from scrutinizing to swooning in nearly half a second. "Oh Obi-Wan! I love you so much! Please no, don't stop kissing me! Mmmm Obi-Wan Obi-Wan!" he moaned, making smacking noises with his lips.

"Anakin!" I gasped, squatting down to clamp my hand over his mouth. Nobody was around to hear him but someone could've! Anakin's brow furrowed and he didn't waste anytime biting on my hand to get me to move it. I snatched it back and glared at him. He glared back.

We just made mean faces at each other as seconds passed by until neither of us could hold it anymore and we both busted out laughing. I sucked in my breath trying to compose myself, but Anakin made a stupid face, and I was guffawing all over again.

The council room door opened suddenly and Obi-Wan came out, saw me and smiled. Anakin kicked my foot with a wicked grin on his face, and I kicked him back, mildly annoyed. Qui-Gon came out a few seconds later looking irritated as kriff.

When our little group came together, Qui-Gon spoke to Anakin and told him what the Council decided. "They're going to test you to see how strong with the Force you are. Go ahead, they're waiting on you."

Anakin began walking towards the council doors, but stopped and turned back around when he realized that on one was following him. "They only want me?" he questioned.

"For now yes, now go on. You don't want to keep them waiting." Obi-Wan answered, completely sidestepping a comforting tone.

Anakin stole a glance to me and I gave him a reassuring nod. "We'll be right out here the whole time." I said. After that, he turned back around, ready to face the masters who would decide his fate.
