"Hello there!" Obi-Wan said, jumping down from his hiding space to engage in a lightsaber duel with his fellow padawan.
"You like saying that, don't you?" Chalset grinned, glad that Obi-Wan, who she had been looking for for the past two minutes, had decided to show himself. She automatically put her green lightsaber in a defensive state as Obi-Wan advanced on her.
"Hey! I haven't said that in a long time." he grinned as Chalset parried his blue lightsaber.
"You said it yesterday!" she responded, laughing as she quickly flipped over Obi-Wan to get him from behind. Obi-Wan with his fast reflexes was quick to turn around and block his friends downing saber, and in result, they came to a standstill with emerald and sapphire locked together.
As they pushed against each other in a battle of strength, Obi-Wan could see a glint of mischief in Chalset's eyes which was soon followed by a push from the Force that sent him stumbling across the room. Obi-Wan quickly regained his footing right before Chalset sprinted after him and started an aggressive asult with her saber. Both padawans possessed great skill, and after several long minutes of sabers clashing, both were breathing heavily and had broken swet.
"Calm yourself," Chalset's master, Plo Koon said to her as she and Obi-Wan circled around each other. "Let the Force flow freely through you. Do not be tense."
Chalset did not dare take her eyes off of Obi-Wan, but nodded her head in acknowledgement. As her master said, she tried her best to calm her nerves before quickly engaging in another dule with her friend.
These training sessions between Obi-Wan and Chalset often did take a long time. Both were greatly skilled and strong with the Force. Master Plo and Master Qui-Gon both watched with keen interest at their padawans, wondering who would win this time.
Finally, after quite a long time, Obi-Wan faked an advance which caused Chalset to put up her lightsaber in defense at the wrong time. Using her error, Obi-Wan quickly moved his saber in a way that suggested that he was going to cut her legs off, only to stop right before it actually did any damage.
He looked up at her, sweat listening face and all, and grinned as Chaset rolled her eyes and deactivated her lightsaber.
"What's this? Three to one? Really Chalset, you've got to do better." Obi-Wan said, smirking.
"Okay, Obi-Sass. I promise you next time we spare, you won't be so happy at the result." Chalset said back while walking to deactivate the holographic simulator.
"Oh, I wouldn't make promises that you can't--"
"That'll be enough of that." Qui-Gon said cutting Obi-Wan off forcefully. Though everyone could tell that he was having a hard time not grinning at the young ones' bickering. Both Obi-Wan and Chalset mumbled a half hearted, "Yes Master." as they went to pick up their robes that were discarded on the floor.
Chalset felt slightly bad that she lost to her friend for the second time in a row, but shrugged off the feeling for she knew she would perform better the next time.
"Get some rest young padawans. The Council is expecting Master Qui-Gon and myself tomorrow morning and you two will be joining us." Master Plo announced, and nobody but Chalset knew that he was smiling under his mask at her valiant efforts.
Once outside the training room, Obi-Wan and Chalset made their way through the halls of the Jedi Temple, going nowhere in particular. Chalset still had yet to get used to the grandness of the building even though she had been there most of her life. As she absentmindedly fingered her beaded padawan braid, a sudden sweet tooth feeling came over her. Once the sight of cookies popped into her mind, nothing in Force could stop it.
Too bad the kitchen is closed. she thought mournfully. Otherwise I'd go there and get myself a warm, sweet, soft, chocolatey cookie and.... No. She tried to cut out the thought as quickly as it had come.
Obi-Wan, quick to notice her distress though their force bond asked what was wrong.
"It's nothing." she said with a fake smile. The thought she was having was practically attacking her with no intentions of letting up.
"Are you sure? I can sense your distress, and it's extremely high. You couldn't possibly--"
Blast.
"Do you want to go raid the kitchen? You know Bostick has always got those mouth watering cookies tucked away somewhere." she said, referring to one of the Temple's chefs.
Obi-Wan blinked and stopped in the middle of the hallway.
"Now you know that's against the rules! That's a stunt that perhaps one of the younglings would pull, but not us! No way."
"But Obi-Wan, I'm hungry." Chalset pouted, using her puppy eyes that they both knew Obi-Wan couldn't resist.
He quickly turned his head to avoid eye contact. "Well it's not my fault you decided to miss dinner just to get some extra training with me in."
"Yes!" she said, excited that she now had something to convince him to go with her because she really didn't want to go alone. "You missed dinner as well! Aren't you hungry?"
"No." he said, obviously lying. A small growl escaped both of their stomachs at miracuously the same time. Chalset smirked.
"Master Plo said that we needed our rest. We can get breakfast in the morning before our Council meeting." Obi-Wan said.
Chalset pouted again, but this time turned on her heel and began walking towards one of the kitchens in the Temple. "Suit yourself." she called over her shoulder. She could practically see Obi-Wan looking back and forth between her and the hall that led to his living quarters. After rounding a corner, Chalset waited patiently for the inevitable to happen. After a few seconds she suddenly received a mental message from Obi-Wan that simply said, "Force."
Following in suit after that came a grumpy looking Obi-Wan rounding the corner. Chalset laughed and clapped her hands in delight as he rolled his eyes.
"I'm only here to make sure you don't get in trouble. Don't expect me to join you in any of your raiding activities." he said, using finger quotes with the word "raiding".
"Alright Obi-Sass." she grinned, grabbing his hand and practically dragging him down the hall.
"Stop calling me that." he whined as she kept marching him forward.
Finally, once they got through the maze of hallways and were stopped at one point by a suspicious Mace Windu, they arrived at a door they all knew to be the kitchen. After checking to make sure no one was in the hallway to catch them, Chalset concentrated and unlocked the door with a soft click by using the Force. After checking one last time just to be positive that on one would see them, Chalset opened the door and stepped into the dark room.
"Oh, I have a bad feeling about this." Obi-Wan murmured from behind her as they quietly entered the room.
