The Request

Thalia's POV

I was beyond happy when Nikki told me she wanted to be a hunter. Now, I only had to worry about Percy and Jason while I'm off saving the world and stuff. But I could also see that Nikki was unsure about this. I could see where she was coming from, I mean to become a hunter was to completely leave behind your old life and devote it to Lady Artemis. Nonetheless, Nikki still decided she would after her quest. 

It was pretty late by this time- like 11pm or so- so I told my baby cousin good night and went to go fine our camp. If your wondering why we didn't just go to the Artemis cabin, it was because firstly our numbers have increased dramacticly in the past few months. Secondly, my hunters didn't like being so close to... the males. And thirdly, the Artemis cabin was almost, completely destroyed. 

As I was walking to find our camp I started thiking about the first time I offered Nikki to join the hunters...
It was right after the war with Kronos. I was gathering up all the wounded hunters and helping them to the hotel to get treatment from the Apollo campers- as much as I hate to admit it they were much better at healing then we were, but then again us hunters never really got hurt. I was struggling since I was still on crutches, then a young maiden came up to me and began helping me carry my hunters to the hotel. We did this in silence until all of my hunters were accounted for- except for the few that had died in battle. Then I asked her what her name was. She paused as i trying to decide weather she wanted to tell me or not, then she just sighed.

"Nicole Di Angelo, daughter of... Hades." She muttered, but i heard her nonetheless. All of the sudden my mind flashed back to the war, that same maiden in the middle commanding an army of skeletons then fighting along with them. She had come when we were at our worst, the Party Ponies were skattering, trying to run for their lives. The people still able to fight were very scarce. Then she appeared in armour as black as the night, and single handedly turned the tides of the war. Sure, Hades also showed up a few minutes after but I was more focused on the warrior who was cutting down our enemies with ease, fire in her eyes, a warrior's spirt. 

My mind snapped back to the present to see the girl staring at me. She looked as though she was waiting for me to run away in fear or something but I just stood my ground and smiled. I stuck out my hand.

"Well, my name's Thalia, lieutenant of the Hunters of Artemis... daughter of... Zues. Nice to meet you little cuz." I greeted. Nicole looked at me in wonder, then gave a small smile- I could tell she wasnn't used to doing that- and shook my hand causiously.

"N-Nice to meet you too?" She said, but it sounded like a question. 

"You know I think we'd better get up there, I suppose we're heroes now. The gods might grace us with their divine pressences for saving the entire world." I exclaimed sarcasticly. Nicole let out  small laugh, and we made our way to the elevator. But Nicole stopped as it opened.

"I-I don't think I would be welcomed in Olympus... my father never is so I don't think-" She began, but someone said something from behind her.

"Nonsence child!" The lord of the underworld practically shouted after appearing right behind her. I saw Nicole's eyes widen and she winced from the sound of his voice. I new that look. I had seen it in some of my hunters before they devoted their lives to Artemis. It was from abuse. 

Nicole immediatly spun around and fell on one knee at Hades' feet. 

"Yes Lord Hades. I-I'm sorry Lord Hades." She whispered fearfully, bowing her head. I felt anger crash over me. So what if he was a god? He had no right to do anything to this child to make her so scared. But I just bowed my head in respect to him.
