Bruce's POV:

Oh my god! What have I done?

Have you ever been in a situation where you tried to help a person and thought that you succeeded, but later you found out you actually worsened the situation? I guess I'll never know your answer since I'm a fictional character played by Mark Ruffalo and written by many people including Emian, right?

Let's just carry on.

My face turned pale and my mind was filled with millions of question.

What's happening? Should I tell her? Or should I not? Maybe I should, but she would be... no, I can't tell her. What am I going to—

"Is something wrong?" Natasha asked me with a concerned look on her face.

I should've realised first that she is a super spy and can understand what's going on in the minds of unpredictable people as well. Well...shit.

"N-Nothing." I stuttered. Oh no.

She pushed my chair a little to make me move and looked at the computer screen that had the result of the blood test.

The next moment, her face turned pale as well. She turned to me and opened her mouth to say something, but then closed her mouth again. She tried to say something but I guess she was pretty confused with what she saw. Finally, she spoke, "What are those little green things?"

"Uh, t-those are, um, uhh, the... well, um..." I trailed off.

"Gamma rays?" she asked with a horrified look on her face.

I wanted to ask her to calm down but how could I? I was the one made this mess.

"Look, I--" I tried to explain but she cut me off.

"You... this is my... what? What did you do?"

"I... remember you had the operation when you came back? You lost a lot of blood so I gave you...some." I was about to shit in my pants seeing Nat's extremely scary glare.

"Who told you give me blood?!" she screamed at me.

"If I wouldn't have given you blood, you would've died. And besides, I don't think the gamma rays are harming you because if they were, you would've been dead by now."

She stood quiet for sometime and then spoke, "I'm sorry, I just... sorry, I got a little... you know?"

"It's fine. And, I'm guessing those gamma rays aren't harming you in any way."

"Yeah, um, okay."

"Get ready."

"For what?"

"The next test. And for visiting Cap."

"Right."

Natasha's POV:

Believe it or not, the second test result said that my body had not lost any amount of blood. Wow.

"Let's take your car." I said after taking one look at my car whose hydraulics had been flooded. I wondered how the water from the rain managed to get inside my car. But, that wouldn't have helped though.

"Yeah, you're right." He said, probably thinking what I was thinking.

I get inside the passenger's seat and Bruce on the driver's. "F.R.I.D.A.Y., take us to Steven Rogers' location." He commanded.

"On it." She said in her not-so-monotonic voice.

An hour, and we were already there (I have absolutely no idea how long it takes to go to Brooklyn from Upstate, so, just think of it as a very modern car that can travel really fast).

As we got out of the car, something caught my attention. It was Steve's house. Even though it was way smaller that the Avengers Facility, it looked like a house in heaven. Well, of course it did, as Steve and Peggy were such a beautiful couple.

"Wow!" Bruce murmured, but I heard it, and let out a sigh.

We walked to the front door and knocked on the door as there was no doorbell.

Typical old Steve I thought and mentally chuckled.

A few seconds, or an eternity you'd say, later, Steve came out and opened the door. Believe it or not, I was more surprised rather than being thrilled to see him. Why surprised? Well, I never imagined there would be a day when I would see a 180-year-old version of the Captain America.

He looked at us for a few seconds and then spoke, "Nat? Bruce?" Well, he was pretty confused.

"Yeah, it's us, Steve. Don't you remember us?" Bruce asked him.

"No, no, I remember! Come in!" he said with that same comforting smile I was familiar with.

People may grow old, but they always stay the same in their heart, don't you think?

We went inside the house and sat down on the sofa in the living room. We talked for a bit about how I 'came back' and about his life. He said that he had a son and a daughter who were off to some other place with their own families. Peggy wasn't alive anymore. I knew that already because back in 2016, I went to her funeral to accompany Steve.

As were talking, I noticed a picture on a little table beside the sofa. I picked it up and scanned it. Steve and Peggy were sitting on a couch somewhere with their children. It was so good seeing Steve finally having the life he wanted so bad for almost a century.

A little later, I figured it was the right time to tell Steve about the nightmares and Red Skull's threats.

"Um, Steve? We have to talk about something." I told him.

"I guess these missions and avenging stuff will never leave me." he let out a sigh.

"Sorry." I said with an apologetic smile.

"It's okay." He said with a warm smile.

I was about to speak when Bruce took the spotlight, "Nat is having these nightmare that are not normal. Every night, at exactly 2am, she has them. She sees whatever happened when she went to Vormir with Clint. And, when she... does that, she feels the pain in her body when she hits the ground. Last night, her dream was totally different. Red Skull was there, talking to her. He told her that every night, when she falls from cliff, she loses blood. And--"

"Who is Red Skull?" Steve asked us.

Wait. Did I hear this right? Did he seriously say that he doesn't remember him?

"D-did you just say you don't remember him?" Bruce asked him in a surprised tone.

"No, I don't I remember him. My memory isn't as good as old times, you know? Who is he?"

I looked at Bruce, and he looked at me, and together we said it,

"Guess we're time-traveling."
