Lyanna's POV

The world came back to me in pieces.

First, the sound of my heart, beating loudly in my ears.

Then, the blinding lights, as I struggled to open my eyes.

"Lyanna?" A deep voice, sounding both familiar and foreign at the same time. "She's awake!" That same voice shouted.

I heard footsteps coming closer towards me, and I opened my eyes fully. There was a boy looking down at me, with dark brown hair and perfectly blended blue-green eyes.

I tried to speak, but when I parted my lips, no sound came out. The boy smiled at me, but I didn't know why. I shifted my gaze to the others entering the room. There was a girl, with short, jet black hair; a boy with platinum blonde, nearly white hair with icy blue eyes; and an older man, who peered at me curiously as he sat down in the chair next to my bed.

My increasing confusion soon became overwhelming. I didn't recognize any of these people, nor did I find the light blue paint that covered the walls or the silk sheets that covered me familiar at all.

Suddenly, everything in front of me disappears. Then I see a body on the ground, a girl. She's staring up blankly at the sky, with blood pooling around her head like a crimson, blooming flower.

The scene disappears, and I'm brought back to the present, except this time, I'm no longer simply lying on the bed. I'm staring down at myself, my limbs contorting as my entire body convulses, with the two boys and the girl trying desperately to hold me down. The older man is trying to insert a needle into the inside of my elbow, with no success.

I feel absolute dread at the pit of my stomach. Not because of the convulsions or the fact that my eyes were rolled up into my head, with only the whites showing. What was more terrifying was that I could barely recognize myself. I've always been pale, but now my skin was nearly translucent, like a vampire. I was no longer just slim, I was unhealthily skinny, as if I was malnutritioned. I could see the outline of my ribs as my shirt rode up during my seizure.

I had no idea what had happened to me. I had no idea how I ended up in this strange world, with strangers surrounding me.

Finally, the old man seemed to have succeeded in inserting the needle into my arm. My convulsions slowed down, and I seemed to return into a peaceful sleep. But that was just my body. I remained awake, my mind blank of any memories, staring down at the unrecognizable body that supposedly belonged to me.

I stared at myself for hours, long after the others left the room and turned off the lights. Eventually, I too, was so exhausted that I was no longer able to keep my consciousness awake.

I had only one choice left. I retreated back into the empty shell that had once held so much happiness, so much hope for the future.

I couldn't recall where I had been to, who I had met, or what I have done in the years that I've been alive. My memory was completely erased for some unknown reason. But I held on to the thought that this girl, this body once held love, happiness, and hope for the future.

And then I let myself go.
