{20} I Can't Lose You

Taehyung's POV:

I rushed to my apartment. I quickly went upstairs and unlocked the door.

"Areum?! Areum!!" I screamed her name and searched for her but she was nowhere to be found.

'What the hell? Where could she be?' I was still searching when it clicked in my mind. 'Shit.' I stopped whatever I was doing and rushed to my car again.

'Areum please be safe. Don't do anything stupid!' I kept worrying until I reached the place. The cage she used to be trapped in.

"Areum!" I started screaming again once I got inside. I went up to her room in full speed and I was right. She's here. Or maybe was.

"Areum?" I went in looking for her when i found the bathroom door ajar and water on the floor. Was it always like this? No way.

I started to dial up Jimin's number nervously. I didn't wanna believe my instincts. She couldn't be in there. I pressed the phone to my ear and and took careful steps towards the bath-tub.

"Hello? Did you find her?" His voice came from the other end but I couldn't move at all as the scene in front of me was absolutely terrifying.

Y/n's POV:

I woke up in an unfamiliar place. I was greeted with a bland ceiling with blazing white lights that burnt my eyes as soon as I opened them.

I looked around. I was in a bed. It was a hospital room I figured. Just great. I'm going to be kidnapped like my sister too now. But what is he doing here?

"Areum? Are you awake?" He asked.

"What are you doing here Jimin?" I asked in a low voice trying to lift my head up as I felt a sting. Almost like all the nerves in my head had been torn apart.

"You need to rest. Lay down." He said gently pushing my head back in it's position.

"What.....happened?" I dared to ask.

"Why did you do that?" He asked back. I couldn't reply so I just looked away.

"I'm just gonna let Taehyung do the asking then." He was just about to stand up when I grabbed his wrist making him turn back and sit again.

"I can't face him. Not yet."

"Then tell me what happened." He said leaning closer to me, freeing himself and holding my hand tightly which was already on his wrist.

"I felt guilty." I said.

"Why?"

"It was my fault. If I had stayed in that day my sister would still be fine. Only if I didn't go to work that day, my sister would have been here next to me."  I explained.

"You and I both know this well Areum. It was never your fault. Don't worry we'll catch him and he'll rot in jail forever."

"It's not just that. Ever since I joined your team everything has been going downhill for you guys. First you guys kept losing all evidence and then Nina unnie and now..." I stopped.

"And now what Areum?"

"Me... I'm such an idiot."

"Stop blaming yourself for every little thing Areum. You are a great help. And we don't want to lose you at any costs."

"What I have I ever done? Just running errands and being sad?"

"No. You helped us get closer to you dad- I mean the culprit. How would we even find it out without you? And secondly, you're such a motivation for us. You keep cheering and doing all the petty things so that we can focus. We are all so thankful to you."

'Petty things?  Like destroying all your evidence?' I said silent.

In the middle of our conversation the door opened revealing an extremely tired and worn out Taehyung. He looked at me with wide eyes but his gaze softened immediately.

"I had a chat with the doctor." He said. Jimin looked at me with a smile for a last time. Then he stood up and went towards him.

"I'll wait for you outside." Jimin lightly tapped Taehyung's shoulder and left.

"How are you feeling now? Do you still have a fever?" Taehyung said as he came close and touched my forehead.

"Im fine.." I said.

"Can you get up?"

"No. My head kinda hurts."

He only sighed and sat down next to me and held my hand firmly in both oh his.

"Was it because of your sister?"

I looked away, a river of tears filling my eyes. He turned my head towards him again and placed a small kiss on my forehead making me cry again.

"Taehyung I can't live like this anymore! I can't lose more people like this!" I cried.

"And I can't lose you Areum.." He replied in a whisper.
