{14} Are You Trying To Clear Your Way?

I choked.

'Why does it have to be her? What do I do?' I thought.

"Don't worry Areum, we'll find the culprit behind your sister. Tomorrow is a Sunday you should rest. You look so dull." I could not speak. There was a huge lump forming in my throat. So I only nodded.

That night, I could not sleep a wink.

'What does Nina unnie know? How much does she know? Does she know it's me? And how the hell did she even find out?' All such thoughts were spinning around in my head. It's all messed up now.

'Kill her. ' that little voice in my head spoke up. No no that's not an option! No matter how many people I kill I can never kill someone I know. Not one of my friends please. I begged to that same voice in me.

'But that's the only thing I can do to stop her. To stop me from getting arrested. I nervously took my phone from the night stand beside me and turned it on, '3:49' am it read.

I need to know more about unnie. And I need to meet her before she goes to Taehyung.

The next day I tried to be as natural as possible. My hands were still shaking as for what I was about to do today. I promised myself that she was going to be the last person. My last victim. I would help the police get closer to dad after that. He deserves to be in jail. As for me, I'll confess about my true identity as soon as he's caught.

"I admire Nina unnie a lot y'know. She's so cool and smart!" I praised her at the table while Taehyung was just eating.

"Yeah, I guess. She is impressive." He replied with food in his mouth.

"I heard she can speak many laguages as well!"

"Yeah she knows a few actually."

"You guys seem very close tell me more about her!" I don't like the fact that he knows so much about her.

'Stop Y/n they have been working together for so long they obviously know each other!" I convinced myself.

"Well yes she is really good at everything. She has brains, looks, wealth, whatever you name it. But she really sucks at defence. She is so weak." He praised. I don't like it.

"Aww do you like her?" I asked teasing him and he stopped eating.

"Of course not. We are just great friends. Jimin, Nina and I have been working together for long enough to be really good friends." He explained putting his fork down.

"Are you just trying to clear your way?" He asked mockingly.

"What way?" I asked honestly confused.

"Are you going to ask me out? Is that why you're making sure I don't have a girlfriend?"

"You think a lot Mr. Taehyung. I'm not going to ask you out anytime soon." I said sarcastically.

"But you're not completely denying it. That means you are going to ask me out. Maybe not soon but someday?"

"You wish." I said rolling my eyes and digging in my food while he only chuckled.

'I'm just making sure that I don't hurt him. Because he's going to lose her soon. But why would I care if he's hurt? Cause it'll be a pain to comfort a grown ass man!' I don't know why but I keep protesting. I don't like him being close to anyone else and I love his company. But I just don't seem to admit that.

"So does this little doll has a boyfriend?" He asked out of the blue.

"Are you trying to clear your way now?" I mocked.

"Maybe." He said casually. My heart stopped.

Looking at my surprised face he burst out laughing.

I took out my phone and checked it under the table. 8:26am. I quickly typed in a message for Nina unnie while Taehyung was still distracted.

"Hey, Taehyung is a little busy with Jimin today. He asked me to collect the clues from you. He didn't exactly tell me what it was but he just told me you knew and that I need to pick it up from you." I sent and the tick turned blue immediately which meant she read it. But she took a while to reply.

"Okay. Where do we meet then?" She responded.

"Let's meet at that abandoned garage we found while investigation the other day. The one near the park. I hope no one would be there! See you at 11." And sent.

I put my phone back in my pocket and smiled with him.

"What if I asked you out? Would you go?" He asked still giggling.

"Why not?" I said and this time he stopped. I broke into a smile a second later and so did he.
