It's been a long time since I've updated this story. First of all, I want to apologize for that. Unfortunately, I don't have good news for you.
Before continuing this story, I want to give its predecessor Beneath the Fountain a rewrite in some aspects. I still adore the story, and I'm so proud of it, but part of my problem is when I started BTF, it was going to be a stand alone novel. However, as I wrote on the fly without much planning, I saw the potential for a series and I took it. The problem is, I didn't do much world building or set up at all for what this series could be. It's led me to be stuck and frustrated with myself because I find myself doing more telling rather than showing, trying to play catch up.
You, my readers, might not see the problem, but as the author I know I can do better. This was my first fantasy, so it was my first go at all the finer details of crafting an entirely new world of magic. Like what are the politics, the regions, the other countries, and the history? These are all things I realized I didn't set up at all in the first book. I was lost in the details.
I kinda lost the joy I once had for writing this story because of it. Not only that, but other ideas started popping in to my head for this story's weak spots. By feeling so stuck on this, I can't bring those to life. Over the past couple months, I've been absent from Wattpad just trying to figure this all out. I didn't like just staring at this not knowing what to do.
So with great sadness, I'm putting this story on hold indefinitely. I need to rewrite BTF first before I can continue Sage and William's story. I don't know when I'll do this, but it'll be a side project for me. I'm sorry I don't have better news for you. I know I had many readers waiting for an update, and I sincerely apologize.
Both stories will still remain on Wattpad, but I wanted to make this announcement. I've been going over it in my head for awhile now, and I've finally come to this decision.
This story will continue eventually, but first it must come back better than ever.
