Kasumi covered her ears instinctively, as the incessant ringing of gunshots filled the air. She felt as if she was about to go deaf by even standing there. She then opened her eyes slowly, only to be greeted by blocks of cement raining down, and people running about in all sorts of directions.

'Where am I?' Raising a brow, she took a closer look at her surroundings. She seemed to be in some sort of palace. A rather damaged one, at that. It looked as if a wrecking ball had smashed right into the walls of the palace.

"This way, Secondo!" A female's voice could be heard. Flipping her head towards the direction of the voice, she found a lady helping up a heavily injured man. For some reason, Kasumi had a gut feeling that she had seen this woman before. The man, whom Kasumi had deduced to be Secondo, was gripping his chest tightly, but blood continued to flow out between his fingers.

"This is quite bad, eh?" Secondo still managed to laugh, even when in a dire state. "I can't believe my own successor is going to be the one to end my life."

"You're going to be okay, Secondo." The black-haired lady spoke in a hushed voice. "You're going to be okay. The Third will not find us here."

The duo were standing at the other corner of the room she was in, but they seemed to pay her no heed. Could they not... see her? Kasumi was relieved, yet at the same time confused, upon learning of this. Was she seeing somebody else's memories?

Suddenly, tin projectiles cut through the frozen air. Each bullet ripped into something, be it inanimate or living.

"They're here! Kill them!" The gruff voices of men in black could be heard from a distance.

"Please... Run and be free, ___!" Secondo barely managed to cough out a few words, as red liquid continued to ooze out of his lips.

"What are you saying?! I'm not going to leave you, Secondo!" The lady fought back.

"You can't do this to yourself, ___. I'm already a goner. If you stay here, they'll just use you! Your freedom will be lost!"

"What's the point of having freedom if you're not there with me, Secondo?!"
