before I go into how I suggest shaving your cooch (LMAOO), i just wanna say one thing. shaving is PREFERENCE, and not a partner or date's preference, its yours!! if you wanna shave, then shave, if not, then don't. Do what you like, not to please someone else, because if someone is really that worried about your body hair status, then girl they're not worth your time.
with that said, here you go :)
---
potential risks;
- razor burn (rash)
- redness
- itching (from hair growing back)
- infection in the hair root.
- ingrown hairs
- bumps
---
1. consider other hair removal options. Ik shaving is the most convenient and quick, but consider everything before committing to shaving nearly every summer day, it can be a lot of work. think about waxing, laser, sugar waxing etc. I personally suggest waxing, even just the bikini line, because it leaves the hair to grow back softer and thinner rather than blunt, and it grows a lot slower than shaving. but then again, shave if you like :)
2. then you wanna decide how much you're shaving off. (bikini line, leaving a strip, brazilian, etc) this'll make it easier, knowing exactly what you want gone.
3. trim with small scissors, because if you haven't shaved in a while or even at all, the hair is most likely long, (trim if longer than a couple cm's). if you try to shave long hairs, you're more likely to do a crappy job and get razor burn... we don't want that.
4. rinse with water then exfoliate lightly. I'm not saying to scrub at the sensitive areas, but grab a loofah or wash cloth and gently exfoliate the areas you're going to shave, this'll loosen the hair follicles, and leave it softer afterwards.
5. apply shaving cream/ gel. using a thick shaving cream or gel will help to protect from cuts and get a close shave, allowing the razor to glide without pressing hard.
6. using a razor and light pressure, shave the direction of the hair growth. (don't push down, and go slowly)
7. rinse the remaining cream off
8. moisturise with a fragrance free lotion and only on the skin areas (not on your labia or near the actual vagina)

tips- important :)
- use a super sharp razor for safety and a better shave
- don't use the same razor for the rest of your body, since your vagina is more sensitive, use a seperate razor.
- use a mirror if you have to, don't blind shave because it allows opportunities to cut yourself.
- don't try shave near your labia or internal areas, as they are SUPER sensitive and can cause big problems if damaged.
---
treating common risks;
- treat an ingrown with certain serums, that will help the hair to come out of the skin.
- treat a nick or cut by applying gentle pressure to ease the bleeding
- go to the doctor if something happens and isn't normal, they've dealt with these issues millions of times.
