Lighting the Dark

Our teams have progressed to the solo matches with Ruby representing her team whilst I opted for Aqua. Speaking of Ruby, the surprised looks on everyone's faces at her new appearance was solid gold. Yang went into a depressed stare mumbling about how 'Ruby is now grown up' which was awkward to say the least. Right now it is Ruby Vs Mercury and from just looking at him, something doesn't seem right. I've seen that look before, on Xemnas and Marluxia mainly. It purely meant 'No mater what happens, I win,' i look at Summer and use the link to communicate silently. 'Summer, something seems off with Mercury,' I point out and she agrees. 'He reeks darkness, same type that is present on the rest of his team. They may be working for Salem or someone,' she responds as we cut the link. The match starts and Ruby is merciless, giving him no chance to do anything. Every swing of Crescent Rose shows a graceful brutality to it that is reminiscent to the other  flower themed scythe wielder I know.

Ruby subtly uses the petals she's scattered to make Mercury stumble as she then knocks him skyward then slams him down, her weapon hooking his body. Mercury stumbles to his feet only to get hit with a concussive blast fired from Crescent Rose, sending him out the ring. "The winner with a flawless performance is Ruby Rose!" Port announces over the speakers as Ruby does a quick bow before stopping. she looks at where mercury was blasted over to and then sidesteps for no reason.  she dodges again as we watch in confusion. "Ruby!" I yell and she turns to look at me. this lets me see her eyes glazed over slightly. "She's in a hallucination," i say out loud and jump the railing warping right next to her. "Sleep!" i call out and Ruby then goes unconscious, falling into my arms as a Sorcerer i summoned holds Crescent Rose with telekinesis.

Atlas droids then surround me, guns aimed right at me and the Sorcerer as Ironwood approaches. "Roxas, stand down" he says to me as I sigh. the rest of mine and Ruby's teams then come with them looking at me in  either confusion and concern. The droids then escort us to an empty room where I put Ruby on a bed. I take Crescent Rose and dismiss the Sorcerer, putting the scythe away on the table. "why did you interfere in the match?" Ironwood asks me as i look him in the eye. "First of all, the match was over so i never interfered. Second, Ruby being effected by either an illusion or Hallucination." I say as Summer walks in. "It's true, after the fight Ruby's eyes looked glazed over as she dodged whatever she was fighting." she explains as Ruby wakes up. "Ruby you alright?" Yang asks as Ruby just nods. "I'm fine, what's going on?"

Ironwood then comes up to her and and starts taling. "after the fight, what did you see?" he asks and Ruby stands up. "Mercury dashed at me, from one look it seemed he was uninjured. Then I looked at the aura chart and it showed mine being near gone with his untouched. I didn't attack as I knew something was up," Ruby explains which makes Ironwood sigh. "I shall inform Professor Ozpin about this, congratulation Ruby on your victory," he says and walks away. Ruby gets up and stretches which releases her wings, her cloak coming off instantly and falling to her feet.

Ruby grabs her scythe and Xions comes up to her. "what do we do about Mercury and the others?" she asks as Vanitas scoffs. "Well, the plans you found shows that something happening during the tournament which would cause mass panic." Ruby's eyes widen slightly and she sits down, her wings returning into her back. "Ruby, you know something?" Blake asks as we all look at her. Vanitas then gives a laugh. "oh, i think i know what's up. The robot girl isn't it?" he says shocking Ruby. "how did you know?" she asks summoning a light scythe to her hand pointing it at him. "i worked with them before joining the Organisation, of course i know about her," he retorts.

Blake, Weiss and Yang look at Ruby while the rest of us look at Vanitas and Neo. Ruby then takes a deep breath before speaking. "Penny, she's a robot with artificial aura." She says as our scrolls ring out. Yang takes her's and reads it concerned. "Umm guys, I think I know what they're waiting for," she says showing her scroll to us. reading it shows the next fight, 'Pyrrha Nikos Vs Penny Polendina'. the tension in the room was so thick not even a keyblade could cut through it. the next few seconds were a blur as coats are put on and Dark Corridors are opened as we all ran through them.
