**Stella's POV**

I am not a person who just kills someone without a reason. Killing is prohibited, and if possible, I wouldn't want to. However, I only kill to protect myself... I have to protect myself and the people I ought to protect—the people I love and the innocent people who can't protect themselves, especially children. Because if I don't do something... I might lose them, or innocent people will die.

Tonight, I won't kill her despite the urge I have due to her evilness. My hands clenched when I remembered how many children had died because of her. Emmalia. She doesn't have a conscience... and that angers me. I bet she doesn't care about what she has done before.

Killing is a sin... and I am aware that after everything I've done—killing those people brutally—I am a sinner. But I have to sacrifice my soul and face hell just to protect the innocents. I kill because if I don’t, those children, women, and innocent people will suffer at the hands of evils.

That is why I am willing to sacrifice myself for my master, Claire... the Heiress of the Dark World... because she’s like me but has suffered more than I have. She sacrificed herself for the people she loves.

Every time she turns into a monster, I discovered long ago that she only kills evils and saves the victims and innocents. She has become a hero, but they never knew how much she suffered to become that strong... The Underground adores her, but she's just a puppet of herself... imprisoned by devils.

That is why I am willing to sacrifice myself to help her... to protect her at all costs. Uno wanted to repay Claire, but I, Stella, wanted to help her because I could see myself in Claire.

She is imprisoned by her own monster. I know that despite her overwhelming strength and ruthless demeanor, behind it is the heart of a soft and kind-hearted girl willing to sacrifice herself just to protect the people she loves and needs.

I was lost in thought when I sensed a flying arrow heading right for me.

Until now, she’s still a cheater...

I decided to duck down to clean my shoes as an act, and the arrow flew directly toward a tree behind me. She has strong hands; the way the arrow hit the tree smoothly but deeply shows she knows how to hit a target for a one-shot kill.

I acted as if I didn't recognize her or her attempts to kill me. I smiled when I sensed her anger and frustration, but I didn’t let her know as I faked my innocence.

I stood up when I was satisfied and immediately headed toward the front of the car, waiting for another attack she might cause. However, the villa was quiet... I could only hear crickets and the howl of the night.

What might she be thinking right now? Though I could sense her presence behind a particular tree and the urge to take her down was coursing through my veins, I felt too lazy to move. The excitement of my date with Lucas was dominating my thoughts, and I didn't want this moment ruined by that woman.

My attention was caught when I saw Lucas walking near me with a genuine, handsome smile. This man is the end of me. I have one thing in my mind, and that is to never lose him.

"I'm sorry for keeping you waiting, sweetheart," he said apologetically.

I smiled. "Where are we going?" I asked as he held my hand and started dragging me softly.

"Follow me, and you'll see."

I smiled once again when I saw the smile on his face. He was shining at this hour; his handsomeness was even more pronounced, making me question how this deadly handsome man fell in love with me.

I knew to myself that he is my first and will only be my last love.

When we reached a particular destination, I was in awe. It was a wide space with Bermuda grass on the ground and a bunch of flowers all around. What surprised me most was the small white cottage in front, adorned with twinkling white lights and a table full of food. Several waiters stood at the side, as if welcoming me.

I couldn't help the tears that formed in my eyes as I faced Lucas, who was staring at me.

"Thank you for coming into my life, Stella," he said with a sweet smile. "You filled my broken life."

"Oh, Lucas!" I hugged him with so much happiness. He is not the only one who has been healed; I am too. "Ever since, you have officially become mine; I was complete."

He hugged me back, and I could feel his love for me.

"I'm sorry for taking so long with this date; I just needed time to prepare."

"Stop apologizing. Everything you do always keeps me mesmerized," I said as I faced him.

"Come on, I know you're hungry," he said, as he once again dragged me toward the cottage.

The waiters at the side bowed their heads the moment we got closer. When we were inside, he moved a chair and gestured for me to take a seat. I smiled and did so. "Thank you," I said.

"You are always welcome, sweetheart," he whispered in my ear, sending chills running down my spine.

He is even hotter... Oh, what am I even thinking? I shook my head, trying to focus my mind.

Lucas went to the chair in front of me and took his seat. "I hope you like the food; I chose your favorites."

I recognized that all the food prepared was indeed my favorites, especially seafood.

"You really know my favorites," I smiled shyly, aware that I was blushing right now.

Suddenly, my smile disappeared when I felt that aura again.

I looked at Lucas and realized I didn’t know how to tell him about the battle I would be having tomorrow.
