Chapter 4 : Uno

**Uno's POV**

I jumped on the wall and ran as fast as I could, but I wasn't far from the school when Claire burst out of me, already holding a knife in her right hand. She was kneeling on one knee with her eyes blazing with fire.

To be honest, I felt fear... this monster is truly dreadful. If this continues and dominates Claire's body permanently, she could destroy the order of the world.

"Claire, wake up. Do not let your monster eat you," I stated, my voice sounding dark. She moved swiftly toward me, and I jumped high, rolling in the air before she could catch me. I landed smoothly on the ground a few meters away from her.

"We need you, Claire. Xenon needs you." After I said those words, I saw her eyes turn black before she closed them.

I couldn't take this much longer; she was fast, but not at her normal speed. Claire was still fighting inside, which made the monster slow, allowing me to keep up with her speed. But if this continues... I hope Xenon can handle keeping the school grounds secure.

She stood up straight, looking right into my eyes, and I could see her eyes were pure black. "I can make it last longer, enough to get away from the people. Keep them safe." Her voice was too dark and cold as she ran, disappearing from my sight.

I sighed in relief. The monster inside her was trying to consume her fully... How long can she handle it? And why? What triggers her monster to dominate?

**Venice Claire's POV**

I knew I had gotten far from the school when I let her take over my body.

I blinked my eyes and found myself against the wall. Shit! Thankfully, I returned before she could enter the school; only the wall was dividing me from the students.

I clenched my fist; my body was getting out of control, and if this continues... I need to quit school, even though I wish to get my diploma from my first-ever school other than home-school.

Suddenly, I heard my phone ring. I took it from my pocket and saw Xenon calling.

I answered it. "Oh, thank goodness! Love, are you okay?" he asked, full of worry.

"Everything's fine; I'm coming," I said, ending the call without waiting for his reply. Then I saw the notifications popping up, showing several missed calls from him.

I could feel my heart beating faster. My system was on the loose, and my heart felt like it was on fire. He really affects me too much that it's hard to control myself, including the monster inside me.

I grounded myself, pushing my strength down to my feet, and jumped high, grabbing the top of the wall and landing on the ground.

Sensing the people's auras on campus, I could feel the stronger ones in the field, so I headed there.

When I got closer, my eyes landed on the man who was impatiently waiting for someone. His posture, his actions—every movement he made, every reaction he displayed—made me adore him more... making me love him more. I didn't know that love was endless. Love didn't have a limit, as I felt myself loving him more every day. I couldn't handle a second without seeing him.

Suddenly, he turned to face my direction. When he saw me, he ran toward me and pulled me into a hug. Fireworks exploded around my body; the warmth he radiated created heat inside my heart that felt like it would explode any moment. "You scared the hell out of me," Xenon whispered in my ear, his warm breath fanning against my bare skin and sending tingles flowing through me.

I could feel him hugging me tightly.

I didn't know myself anymore. I needed him... as if Xenon were my drug... I wanted to feel him.
