"Claire..." His eyes glistened as he looked at me with surprise.
I could hear my heart beating fast, feeling the heat from the intensity of his gaze.
"Oops, excuse us lovebirds," Lucas stated as he brushed past me, walking into the house, followed by Adrian and Coby. However, before he completely passed me...
"Ahm... Claire, is Cassandra here?" he asked shyly, but before I could respond, Adrian dragged him forcefully inside the house. "Hey!"
"What are you doing here?" Xenon asked, wearing some sort of... shyness? Why?
"I brought you dinner; Drena cooked it," I replied, not taking my eyes off him.
His forehead creased. "You're going back?"
I closed my eyes and took a breath, trying to calm myself and not let my feelings for him dominate my thoughts.
I opened my eyes and faced him, nodding. "I gave the food to Stella, so... I'm going back since it's already dark."
I walked past him, not wanting to prolong our conversation because his presence had a way of altering my behavior.
But then I stiffened when I felt his arms wrap around my waist. His warm touch sent tingles through my body, like electricity igniting my senses.
"I miss you so much. Did I do something wrong?" he asked softly, his voice carrying a sadness that felt almost like a solemn song—so addictive. His warm breath heated my bare skin, radiating down my body, igniting a desire for him.
But his words caught me off guard. Even though I was unwilling, I turned to face him. I couldn't help but adore his handsome face. Caressing his soft, skinny cheek, I asked, "Why would you say that?" My voice came out softly.
"It seems like you were avoiding me." The movement of his perfectly thin, pink lips felt like a temptation. I wanted them on mine; they fit perfectly against my lips.
His arms were still holding my waist, and with our closeness, I couldn't help but kiss him. However, I was trying my best to control myself, so it came out as just a peck. I faced him again, and his reaction was one of surprise. "You did nothing wrong, and I'm not avoiding you."
Maybe I was, but I was trying my best to not be noticed. It seemed like my actions were too obvious.
He caressed my cheek slowly, using the back of his fingers. The movement of his hand felt like fire coursing through me. Real fire never affects me like this. I have never felt pain, no matter how much I yearn for it. But his touch burned me, and I couldn’t help but close my eyes. "Then stay with me tonight. I miss your presence." His soft voice was like bombs making my heart explode with sensation.
But when his words processed in my head, my eyes suddenly opened. His eyes held shock and surprise, but then he smiled. "This is the first time I’ve seen your eyes turn pure black, and hell, you look pretty." His voice was raspy, and his eyes held amusement.
I wanted to say no to his offer, but I couldn't find my voice, as if my body were rejecting my will. My hand ran to his chest, then to his cheek, and my thumb rubbed against his lower lip. How could those lips be so soft and attractive?
I sensed him stiffen, and his eyes didn’t leave mine. "You’ve tamed me, Claire. I can’t handle living without you." His lips vibrated against my thumb, resonating deep within my soul, making me want him, feel him.
Suddenly, with swift speed, I pinned him against the wall, holding his shoulders. Shock was evident on his face, but he quickly masked it. I cupped his face with my right hand, staring at him intensely. "What did you do to me?" I asked, mostly to myself, as I struggled to control my actions.
