Chapter 023

Katrina stepped out of the bathroom after nearly 10 minutes of staying there. She walked towards the kitchen and spotted Maksim patiently waiting for her without touching any of the food he made for her only holding a cup of tea.

He glanced to the side and noticed how standing there.

"I made you breakfast, come"

Katrina nervously dragged her feet to the chair, sat down and began eating the food he made.

"I'm sorry for making you uncomfortable"

This apology took Katrina by surprise as she did not expect him to apologize out of the blue, so she placed her utensils down and looked back up at him.

"You didn't make me feel uncomfortable"

"Oh, that's good then"

After finishing the delicious breakfast Maksim was washing the dishes since he didn't want to wash them when he returns back from work which will be a headache so doing them now is be wiser.

Maksim was also listening to jazz music, while washing the dishes and as he was wiping the plates two pair of arms wrapped around his waist from behind.

He stopped moving his hands and froze right on his spot.

"What is it? You okay?"

Katrina was still wearing his pants and shorts, which looked oversized on her adorable panta body, and Maksim could feel her chest pressing against his back. He also could feel her heartbeat that was increasing by every word he spitted out.

"Thank you for ... breakfast"

"No need to thank me. It's my pleasure"

Maksim responded back. He believed that after answering her question, she would release him but it was quite the opposite. She tightened her grip on him.

"Lately you've been very touchy, is something wrong?"

"A reward for making me breakfast"

"A hug?"

"Yes, a hug. Be thankful"

It's the funniest and most cutest excuse that Maksim has ever heard. He turned around and watched as Katrina blushing released him and quickly left the kitchen.

A few minutes later Alexei arrived at the station. He walked through the entrance and spotted only a few people inside, it wasn't a surprise since most of the people come later on in the day, so he continued walking towards the coffee area. And out of the blue Sasha popped out from the corner and startled the living soul out of Alexei.

"Good morning sleeping beauty"

"What 'good' morning? You startled me! What's with you?!"

Sasha simply smiled at Alexei's exaggerated reaction and raised his hand up to brush his fingers through Alexei's short and soft hair.

"You have soft hair, are you sure you're a boy?"

"What nonsense are you spitting out? Y-you're being unreasonable!"

Alexei could feel turn into a chipmunk, he simply couldn't stand Sasha's tall and burning presence so he slapped his hand away and turned around without grabbing a cup of coffee that he previously desperately wanted.

Meanwhile in Erik's office, he was sitting across from the handcuffed and bored looking Vladimir.

"Now since you agreed on helping me, here's my first question; who is responsible for the crimes happening so far?"

Vladimir glanced down at the coffee given to him by Erik, which made him smirk.

"A loser named Sergey Volov"

"Sergey Volov?"

The name sounded so familiar to Erik, but he simply couldn't point his finger on it.

"He basically replaced me. He may he capable of damaging things but at the same time, he's a nobody without his men and position"

"The name sounds familiar to me"

"I don't know much about him because I honestly couldn't give a fuck"

"Are you a hundred percent certain that Sergey Volov is behind the crimes that have been occurring?"

"Maybe if you actually stop talking so much and actually do something, they may decrease"

"I can't attack an unknown enemy. I first had to figure out who he was and you were the best option, but it seems like you also don't know much about him"

"I know what's necessary to know. Other stuff, don't care about"

"Well, at least we know who the man behind the crimes is"

Erik stood up from his seat and headed straight towards the door, opened it and left Vladimir behind.
