Sixteen-year-old Izuku Kayama's arm reached out from under his blanket and slapped the alarm into silence. He shuffled back under the warmth of his haven; but yelped as it was suddenly ripped from above him. Sunlight streamed through the gap in his curtains, beaming him right in the eyeballs.
"Gah!" He rolled over, putting the light behind him as he rubbed his seared retinas. When he opened them again, thankfully they were fine from that sudden burst of light and sat up. He glared at the person next to him who just smirked, looking smug as fuck."Get up you lazy shit, it's already 9am. We're going to the beach for training before the exams on Monday!" And with a whirl, left the bedroom.
"Good morning to you too Rhyki!" He called out and all he got was a wave over their shoulder before his bedroom door slammed shut. Rhyki was his best friend, ever since they had been about four/five years old. He would, without a doubt, he completely lost without that weirdo. Izuku signed as he got out of bed. Why did they have to get up so early? It was a bloody Saturday!Good morning Izuku. His quirk, that lived inside of him, said.
Good morning Syrinx. Did you sleep well?
I did. Did you?
Yes, until Rhyki ripped the duvet from above my head. He grumbled as Syrinx let out an amused chuckle.
That is our Rhyki for you. And wasn't that the understatement of the century. Both he and Syrinx adored their best friend, even if Rhyki was a major handful at times. He raced to his bathroom, emptied his bladder, scrubbed his teeth clean, splashed water on his face to wake up more and then brushed the unruly mop of black and green curls atop his head. He stretched and grunted happily as his shoulders cracked, releasing the slight stiffness there. He itched a spot on his ten-packed abs before going to his wardrobe and pulled out clothes. He opted for black joggers and a plain black t-shirt. Once done, he grabbed his backpack with a change of clothes in, left his room and headed downstairs. His mum, Nemuri Kayama, otherwise known as the 18+ pro-hero Midnight, was laughing in the kitchen. He followed the tinkling sound and strode into the vast space. Rhyki was sprawled at the table, smirking."What's so funny?" He asked, before smiling as Nemuri handed him a plate of eggs, bacon and toast sided with a glass of fresh orange juice.
"Morning my sunshine. Did Rhyki really pull your duvet off you?"
"Morning mum. Yes, it's true. It was mean, I was comfortable!" He grumbled and sat down, dumping his bag at his feet.
"Please. You wouldn't have gotten up if I hadn't of done that, and you know it Izu." Rhyki snorted.
"Rhyki has a point." She handed over a plate of food to Rhyki, who thanked her.
"Don't you dare team up!" Izuku rolled his eyes.
"Why not son?"
"Because that sucks. I don't have anyone on my team." He shovelled grub into his mouth and glared. Or as much as he was able to. He was just too soft for his own good and couldn't be angry at them. At least, not for long anyway. They knew it too. They, along with a few others, got that side of him. He was somewhat cold towards everyone else. Nemuri chuckled as she left them to eat, after giving them a kiss on their cheeks."It's ok. I'll stop teasing you now. And you know I'll constantly team with you Izuku. We're family. We stick together through everything, like always." Rhyki replied and he grinned at her. She was, baring his mum, the best thing in his life. He loved her dearly. He glanced at her as she took her mask off from where it was around her throat. Only a few saw her without it. She had magnificent flame orange eyes with split pupils, framed by long black lashes and highlighted by ever present dark onyx eyeliner. A small pert nose with a hoop in the left nostril. Full lips held hoop piercings on either side. She had piercings up the sides of her ears. Long hair was up in a high ponytail, jet black with vibrant orange from about halfway down (so it looked like flames). Her gloves were next to her and he saw her long nails were painted a striking black, as always. And the reason for her mask? She had it on as an air of mystery – her words – but she was ravishingly beautiful. She wasn't cocky with her looks but kept the mask on due to the unnecessary attention that it brought her, and she hated that. She was, without a doubt, one of the most gorgeous people in the world – but he was biased, she was his best friend/sister, so he was allowed to say that, but even then, he knew it was fact. Just looking at her, you knew it. Her clothes moulded to her curvaceous frame, consisting of a tight tank top with an open shirt and black shorts. They finished their food and began washing up.
