Chapter one............

Hi my names Ashley and I've got a few besties who have been wanting to learn how to surf . I'm not a pro but my bestie Sarah definitely is . I was outside waxing my board when my bestie Sarah walked up from behind me with iced water in her hand - here ! Ice water like you asked for . You know that This isn't normal. I looked up at her a sandy hot mess obviously she's been surfing today - what's not normal? I took the cup of iced water from her and took a big sip. Sarah - you're drinking ice water instead of iced or hot coffee. Is there something wrong with you ? Ashley- besides the facts that I suck at surfing and I suck at having a conversation with a guy nope nothing's up with me . Sarah laughed - I'm happy you dumped Andrew who needs a boyfriend like him ! There's plenty of fish in the sea . Ashley- okay I love how you're all like about finding me a new boyfriend when you're the one who's like men suck let's just stay single forever!!!! I keep waxing my surf board . Sarah's jaw dropped - yeah well I'm tired of being single . Ashley- oh so it has nothing to do with living on your own ? Suck it up ! I live alone now and I'm doing just great . Sarah - wow who let the snapping turtle outta the ocean ? I'm perfectly fine on my own to I'm just saying I'm tired of feeling alone and since you're bad breakup with lover boy you've been saying you feel the same way I'm feeling now so what's you're problem! It's time for the snapping turtle to come outta its shell for once ! I mean holy shit you only wanna come out when you wanna snap at people. You wonder why you're single and got no friends. I roll my eyes at her - maybe I wouldn't have to snap if my bestie didn't say dumb shit . Sarah - so you're done dating forever since ya two broke up? Ashley- uh thanks for the ice water but ya should go home I'm busy I've got practice later on for volleyball and you do to . Sarah - right volleyball I'll see you uh there . She walked away sad . Do I feel bad for lashing out on her ? Maybe a bit but uh I hate when she's trying to bring up a new boyfriend a new life I'm not ready to have yet .

Speaking about Sarah she's got a older brother named Cody he's actually one of my best friends we grew up together actually and he's super into the ocean and swimming and uh surfing. I'd be lying to myself if I said I didn't like like him but I'm definitely not and I repeat never dating again . Cody was tall with blonde hair and blue eyes like the ocean and I have brown hair and ocean blue eyes....I think we would be a cute couple honestly. Oh who am I kidding he's into This red headed girl with freckles named zoey . I hate her whenever I'm near her I wanna pick her up and toss her in the ocean who is she to make fun of me surfing the waves ...I'm definitely not a pro so she should keep her trap shut .

I'm not as interested in Cody as I once was to be honest . Hold up maybe she's been trying to set me up with her brother all along . Gross the thought of dating someone is gross . I actually think I need a time out from guys and be single. It's better then being hurt . I lean my surf board up against the shed to my house and walk up the porch and I turned around when I heard a beep noise . To my surprise it's Cody my besties brother .

Cody shouted at me - yo Ashley do you wanna go surfing tonight? Zoey invited you ! She told me that you're learning how to surf some waves and I think it will be a fun party !!!

Ashley- oh hi Cody . I can't tonight I've got volleyball with Sarah but tell zoey I said hi . I think in my head idiot you're a idiot ! Do . Not . Crush . On . Your . Bffs . Brother . The song is ringing in my ears oh no . Gotta make him leave now . Uh Cody I've got stuff uh cooking in the oven I've got to go . Cody - okay Ashley I understand have a nice day ! He left . I'm gonna kill her ! I called Sarah and she picked up- hey girl hey ! Ashley- don't you hey girl hey girl me ! You told Cody I was home waxing my surf board didn't you ?! I shouted . Sarah - you sure you're okay ? I'm worried about you . Ashley- I could say the same thing to you little miss I want a boyfriend! Look ! Just because I'm single now doesn't mean I want a boyfriend I'm not saying you're brothers ugly he's not my type ! I am just trying to live a single and free life so stop trying to set Cody and I up ! Bye bye I hung up on her mad . Good thing I'm finished waxing my surf board I would definitely have snapped it in half . When I get into the house I called my other besties brook and Casey . Brook - she's gone crazy . Casey - why all the sudden change of heart with this ?
