~(Y/n) POV~
"I need a number five for table ten!" I say loudly as I rush around the cafe picking up plates and also placing finished plates at waiting people.
"Ready!" A hear and quickly but carefully make my way to the counter and trade out trays.
"Thanks! You're doing great!" I say with a smile as I make my way to the small table.
After having two more kids with Shi {Hawk's reincarnate} after we had remarried, I decided that for my last cycle I'd not be a hero and just work at the cafe full time. Since I stopped being a hero many more people have come for autographs and for our orders. We're the most visited cafe in this area of Japan. I enjoy working here, even though it gets quite busy.
"Sorry for the short wait, it's a little hectic this morning." I say with a smile as I set the plate of breakfast down in front of the man and refill his coffee cup.
"That's quite alright. I'm in no rush." The man's voice rings out as he lowers his newspaper.
My breath hitches slightly as I look at him. He has short black hair and striking red eyes. Is this Shota's reincarnate? He looks so similar to him. I think as I blink before biting my tongue.
"Are you okay, Miss?" He asks me and I smile at him.
"Y-Yes, I am. Thank you. Enjoy your meal." I say before heading back for more orders and cleaning up.
I breath out in relief as the breakfast rush finally ends and the cafe becomes nearly empty besides for a few who are either eating, on electronics, or talking happily as they socialize at their tables.
"You okay, Grandma?" Leah asks with her slight English accent mixed in with her Japanese as she seems concerned.
"I'm good. Just saw someone who looked like an old friend. Now I'm going to make myself a small cup of joe!" I say with a small laugh as I put money in the register before making myself a drink of the hot liquid.
"I hope I was able to help as best I could. Now I really have to get to school or I'll be late for my second class." Leah says and I nod.
"Go ahead. Grab a malasada for a reward. You did great today. I'll be able to manage until Maz gets here." I say to her and she gives me a quick hug before rushing out the front door with her backpack and waves at me while she runs to the bus stop.
I need more staff. I'm surprised Leah still works here while she does college. She's gonna stress herself if she isn't careful. I think as my brows knit together in concern as I stare off to where my granddaughter disappeared to.
"Hello?" I snap from my thought as I get talked to.
"Sorry. How can I help you?" I ask as I face the red eyed man from earlier.
"Are you hiring?" He asks and I stare at him a little taken aback. "Telepathy." He says while tapping the side of his head and I stare at him confused for a moment before it clicks.
"That's a pretty cool quirk. I haven't met many of those." I say and he nods.
"Are you? Or do I need to wait until you put a sign up?" He asks and I chuckle nervously.
"It would help. Are you wanting to try for it?" I ask and he looks at me a little annoyed.
"Would I be asking if not?" He states with a questioning look and I clear my throat a little nervously.
"We aren't busy right now so I think I can pull in a small interview." I say and he nods. "What position would you want to do and would it be full time or part time?" I ask and he hums in thought.
"Full time. I could be a waiter. No offense, but food would probably get served a lot faster if you didn't have to make sure your wings didn't bump into anything even though you hold them close to you." He says and I nod as I bite my lip because he hit the target. "I could also help with the register. I worked an old job as a cashier before." He says and I nod.
"You seem pretty fit for this but I'll just have to have some background information about you before I hire you. Here, write down your name and number and I'll give you a call soon." I say as I pass him a pen and rip a page from my order book and pass it to him.
"I can come by later today, I'm not busy." He says and I nod after a moment. "See you later than." He says as he gives a head nod before leaving and walk out of my sight down the street.
Definitely reminds me of Shota. They both hate to repeat themselves. I think with a small chuckle as I grab my box of Pocky from under the counter and take out a stick.
"Ah, finally decided to play with me?" I hear a joking voice say and I laugh as I take a bite of the strawberry flavored treat.
"Keep dreamin', Maz. Take one if you want though." I say with a small laugh as I look at the pink haired male who takes a stick while he puts on his apron.
"So what desserts do I need to make? What did the breakfast stampede take out?" Maz asks and I I open the display window of pastries and show it to him. "A few malassadas, cookies, and a couple doughnuts." He says as he writes stuff down before heading to the kitchen.
"Don't burn yourself!"
"You're not in here!" I chuckle at his comeback as I look down at the neat writing on the paper,
