"Alright, we're done. You're gonna turn Barnes over and you're gonna come with us. Now, because it's us or a squad of JSOC guys with no compunction about being impolite," The anger in Tony's voice scared me. "We found it. The quinjet's in Hanger 5, north runway," Sam reported, as we looked out a window. I heard an arrow cut through the air as it was fired. "All right, Lang," Steve said. "Hey guys, something--" Spider-Man was cut off.
"Woah, what the hell was that?" Rhodey asked. "I believe this is yours, Captain America," Scott said. "Aw, great. All right, there's three in the parking deck, one of them's Maximoff. I'm gonna grab her," Tony said, and I heard his suit fire up. "Rhodey, you wanna take Cap?" Tony asked. "Got 3 in the terminal. Wilson, Barnes, and Scotch," Rhodey said.
"Barnes is mine!" The thick-accented man said. We had started booking it towards the carrier, Sam barely able to keep up with us. Someone in red and blue spandex landed on the glass and started crawling towards us. "What the hell is that?" Bucky asked as we ran. "Everyone's got a gimmick now," Sam objected.
Spandex swang in through the window, straight into Sam. "Run!" I told Barnes, and Spandex turned to me. I swang for his face, but he caught my hand. "Woah, your suit is scale-textured?! That's so cool!" He said. I froze in terror.
This was a kid. I was fighting a kid. I don't wanna fight a kid! I'm not gonna fight a kid. That's just wrong.
Sam went and grabbed Spandex. "You have the right to remain silent!" Spider-Man said, escaping Sam's grasp. He started swinging from the roof, while I was still trying to come to my senses. Explosions rang out outside, and my gut twisted when I realized it was probably Clint and Wanda. Spandex landed on one of the rafters, but Sam exploded it and caused him to swing to another one.
"Oh, god," Bucky picked up a sign and hurled it at the kid, but he managed to dodge it. We both ducked behind a pole, my back pressed against it. "Hey, buddy, I think you lost this!" The sign came flying back towards us. "Who is this guy?" Bucky asked, dodging the sign. "I don't know! A low-rent version of me, I think!" I said as Sam crashed through a display.
I started hearing that stupid whine I thought I was rid of, and it took over all the other noise. We ran towards Sam but got knocked through the barrier. The other two landed on their backs, but I landed on my feet, but got webbed and fell to the ground. I was too tired to fight back and my head was pounding like an elephant herd had just run over it. Redwing appeared out of nowhere, grabbed Spider-Man, and flung him out of the window.
Bucky said something, but I couldn't tell what. I didn't hear what Sam said either. We wormed our way out of the webbing, but I was having a hard time staying upright, my head hurt so bad. We joined up with the others, running towards the quinjet to try and escape. A yellow beam made us halt in our tracks, and I looked up to see Vision.
I couldn't hear what he said, but the others started moving and I followed. Half of them jumped into the air, and I went up to meet them. I managed to slip out of sight, behind a boarding tunnel. I pulled off my mask, panting, and dizzy. A man in a catsuit landed near me. I sighed, pulling my mask back on and turning to him.
He lept for my face, but I shot into the air and shot back towards him, knocking him to the ground. His claws raked my arm, ripping my suit and drawing blood. Acid shot from my wrists, but my movements were slow and sloppy, exactly what they shouldn't be. My opponent noticed this, retracting their claws. The action confused me.
I got a good kick to the head...
