Chapter 23

Damien POV

Many weeks have passed and everything seems to change. Alpha Zach, Alpha Niall and Alpha Zeke were always together to plan for the war. Averys and Stefan were assigned by Alpha Zach to look over the borders while I became the trainer and babysitter of Niko. Actually, he doesn't need one. He was staying in the place of the Mage. They built a place for Niko to stay. He was safer here than anywhere in the world. This place is highly protected by a spell that disallow someone with bad intention to enter. So I should have been with Averys and Stefan protecting the territory. It suited me well.

Why the hell am I here then? Because Zach don't trust anyone in terms of his mate but me. And it's not because I like Zach, I trust myself that I am truly over him. Besides, I have another reason for coming here.

"Damien! Are you tired? You can go home now. It's almost dawn and we still have class tomorrow." I looked at Niko who was having his training with Blythe. I was on the side watching the both of them in awe when they use their spell to anything. Both of them are wearing cloak. Niko was in his Royal Purple Cloak and Blythe was in his Bright Baby Blue Cloak. Niko is certainly natural. It's still weeks and he can almost fight Blythe equally using his spells.

"No, it's okay. Zach would kill me if I won't end up my report with 'yeah and he was asleep when I left him'" He chuckled.

"I'm going to bed now. We can have our training tomorrow Damien. I want to go to the Big House. I miss Zach. I'll leave the both of you now. Good night Damien. Good night Mage Blythe." I smiled. Things that mate bond do. You cannot stay away from your mate for a long time.

"Bye Little Mage Alpha. Night-night"

"Night Niko." He left. I stood up, getting ready to home. Then I looked at Blythe. He was looking at me.

"What?" I said. He came near me and wrapped his arms around my waist while burying his head in my neck.

"When are going to stay for a night with me?" I stiffen at his so irritated voice. I feel so little when he's mad.

"I .. I haven't told Alpha Zach about you. I need to report to him every night so I need to go home." He glared at me.

"You told him or I will tell everyone in your pack. You chose." He said threateningly. I nodded.

"I need to go now."I said, almost in whisper. He sighed then leaned to kiss me. I kissed him back.

Yeah, he is the other reason why I need to be here. I can't be away from my mate. I learned Blythe is my mate the very first day we went here.

Flashback- the day they went to Mage Rince house

We stopped at a small house, much like a cottage from children's book. But when we entered, it's definitely twice bigger than our own house. It smells really nice, it's lavender. Damn, this Mages. They can do whatever they want with their spell.

"Please feel at home. Aramina, my love! I'm home. We have guest."

A beautiful woman popped out of the dining room. She beamed so wide and kissed her husband. She is enviously stunning. Are there any ugly mage around? Goddess they are so blessed.

"Oh My! It's my family's honor to accommodate you. Our children and their companion are in the dining already. Please follow me."

I looked at Averys. I know she can feel a little insecure with this Mages. She maybe reckless bbut she's a girl after all. Girls always have a thing for beauty. I looked at Stefan, he was whispering at her. I guess he's making sure that her mate is still the most beautiful girl in his entire world because I saw Averys blushed.
