Alone.
That's how it always was with you. You may have had 'friends' at school but you still felt truly and utterly alone. But to you, that was okay. It was the normal now.
"Maybe it's better to be alone, no one to hurt me and no one to get hurt by me," You thought, "Besides, it's not like you have any family left, not anyone that cared at least. Well shit, that was dark. Geez where has my mind gone?"
You had run away from your father when you were 14, to go find your mother. They had divorced when you were around eight years old, your mother leaving him and taking your sister with her. You were left with your father, and at the time you didn't know why your mom had left. You constantly thought it was you until you began to realize when you got older, that your dad wasn't a great dad. Sure he fed you and gave you a place to live but he basically made you live on your own, always leaving for weeks and sometimes months on end for his business. He never told you before he left and wouldn't say when he'd return, leaving you just enough money to buy food. That's when you had the oh-so brilliant idea to go and find your mother and sister.
As your thoughts reached the two of them, you quickly pushed them aside and finished eating the breakfast you made yourself. You moved through your tiny house and put the dishes in the sink, making a mental note to clean them when you got home. You slipped off your shoes and grabbed your backpack, heading out of the door of your small house in Japan, which only occupied you and the stray cats you were housing.
The walk to your school didn't take long, but was still a lengthy walk. It started off quiet, as always, but you soon heard the loud footsteps of seven or so boys, all of which attend your school. You knew what was coming next, as it was usual for your 'fanboys' to show up around this far into your walk to school. You turn around quickly before they can start bombarding you, and with a smile, greet them. They all say hello back, but before they can say anything else, you interrupt.
"Sorry boys, but I have a bit of a headache today, would you mind being a little quieter? I would appreciate it." You say with an innocent smile and closed eyes while rubbing your head. You wish you could just tell them to shut the hell up, but that would be rude.
"Of course (Y/N)!"
"Anything for you!"
"Have you eaten yet? That may be causing your headache! Here take my bento, I don't need it!"
You giggle, "No thank you, I think I just have a lot on my mind at the moment, I'm sure I'll be fine by lunch!"
They all melt at your adorableness and slowly and quietly follow behind you, whispering to each other compliments on your outfit. You never liked the school uniforms so you decided not to wear them. It took a bit of 'convincing' for the principle to let you wear whatever, but it was worth it in the end, you HATED skirts. Today you wore an army green tank top with black cargo pants and white combat boots. Your earrings were little daggers and your (H/L) (H/C) was cascading down your back and shoulders. You were wearing a golden necklace with the letter of your first name on it, a gift from your mother when you were little. It always made you feel more comfortable. It was slightly colder today, so you decided to bring along a bomber jacket, leaving it hanging off your shoulders and resting right above your elbows.
"She looks so pretty today."
"Her ass looks great in those pants."
You glare at the boy who said that from over your shoulder. He quickly tensed up realizing that you heard his comment and profusely apologized. You just scoff and continue walking in front of the boys, rivaling their height with your own. You wouldn't call yourself tall where you were from, but here, man did you feel big. The girls were only around 5' 2" on average and most boys were 5' 7". You were 5' 10" yourself and man did you feel tall around some of these guys. Some were taller but most of them were shorter, the thought of it making you giggle to yourself.
As you were deep in thought about how short Japanese people were, you had arrived at the school. You once again turned to the boys, all of them straightening their posture and trying to look good. Some of them did you had to admit it, but dating wasn't your thing. You never were one for that kind of pointless attachment.
"You all need to go to class, it starts in five minutes." I say, trying to get them off my tail.
"But what about you (Y/N), you'll be late to class!" One speaks up, the rest of them nodding their head in agreement.
You let out a tired laugh, "Thanks for your concern fellas but I'll be fine, I just have somewhere I need to go. Alone." You ended your sentence seriously as you tried your hardest to get them to leave you be.
They clearly got the message and took off, each one saying their goodbyes and heading to class. You took a sigh of relief as you could already feel your headache depleting. After making sure no more were secretly following you, you happily made your way to the nurses office, your usual hangout for days like these.
As you open the door, the nurses face changes from one of annoyance to glee as she sees you enter. She was trying to send some students back to class as she had figured out that they were faking being ill.
"Go now or I'll have (Y/N) kick you out herself." The nurse says with confidence as she points to you. The boys visibly freeze and look at you, a small hint of fear in their eyes at the realization that you could beat their ass, and easily at that.
You walk towards the boys and put your elbow on the nurses shoulder, "No matter how much I would love to do that, I made a promise to the principle that I wouldn't harm anyone on campus." You shrugged and she groaned, the boys letting out an obviously held breath.
"Miss, you really think we'd win against (Y/N)? You did hear what she did to that other kid who was fighting her right?" One of the boys asked.
"Of course I did. I had to take care of them afterwards. I won't say they deserved every bit of it, but, well they deserved every bit of it." She winked at you as you just let out a scoff with a big smile on your face. You felt proud when people knew not to mess with you, it made you feel like you were no longer a fragile little girl.
Your conversation with the nurse and two boys was soon interrupted by the office door swinging open to a familiar face with a busted up leg.
Jotaro Kujo.
I really hope you guys enjoyed chapter one! It's gonna go a little slow ESPECIALLY when it's backstory time but I just want to make sure there's enough detail involved.
Drink some water and have a fantastic day!!
