Dream / Flashback:

"(Y/N)," You hear a soft voice call out to you. As you opened your eyes, it was a woman in her late 40's with grey/white hair. She was accompanied by a younger girl, around 13 years old. She looked so much like you it was scary. "It's time to wake up. Your sister and I are both starving, and we need some good food. We were thinking about going to that new restaurant, sound good?" She asks, her voice still soft as to not anger you while you were still half asleep. She learned the hard way that you were not to be messed with when you just wake up.

'Something about this is too familiar. Something's wrong. I can feel it. But, I almost don't want to figure it out. I'm happy here, finally. I'm not going to let this bother me.' You think as you agree to go to dinner, getting ready in the basic American clothes you wore everywhere. You were in Cairo with your mother and sister after having finally found them a year after leaving America. They gladly took you in, and have been living together, as a family, for around four months. You finished getting dressed, wearing simple clothes and sandals.

Dinner was nice, always a conversation going on and the smell of spices in the air. The food at this new restaurant was delicious and you made a mental note to come here in the future. Everything was going swell, that was until you got that bad feeling, and it was extremely strong. It was menacing but comforting at the same time, something that horrified you.

You had finally had enough of this overwhelming feeling, getting up from the table and walking off. You were going to follow this feeling, seeing if it was attached to a person or place, something you could avoid for the rest of your life. You were so focused on finding this person or thing through a bunch of alleyways, you failed to realize that your family was following you, concerned about your odd behavior.

After what felt like hours of searching the alleyways, you had come to a dead end with a single man at the end. He was hidden in the darkness, the only thing showing in the dim street lights was his long blonde hair and muscular body. 'That aura, it has to be him. He seems... interesting. No. I need to run, he's probably dangerous. This aura is bad, run away. But I can stay, why would I stay?' Your thoughts were moving so fast, too fast for your brain to manage. As you just stared at him trying to decide what to do, the mysterious man finally spoke up.

"Ah, my dear (Y/N), it's so nice to finally meet you." He speaks. His voice was calming to you, almost like a father talking to his daughter. The way your name rolled off of his tongue was intriguing to you. "Oh no, but it seems as though we have a problem. You see, I didn't want you to bring any guests." He finishes his sentence with a small hiss. You didn't know who he was talking about, not until you heard your mother call out your name from about 30 feet behind you. You wanted to turn around and yell to her, tell her to run and not look back, that this man was dangerous. You wanted to say you loved her one last time or thank her for everything she's done for you. But you couldn't.

You couldn't speak, move, think, anything. It felt like watching your body from a third person point of view. You were still stuck in your original spot as DIO slowly walked over to you, only to brush a piece of your (H/C) hair out of your eyes. The next thing you knew, he had suddenly appeared behind you, walking towards your family. You had somehow been turned around as well, seemingly in an instant.

DIO's POV

'My dear, dear (Y/N), this so-called family of yours is a weakness. I can tell they are dragging you down, stopping you from reaching your full potential. I know how to fix this. I will fix this. You may hate me for it, but so be it. You need to be stronger, and you will be because of what I will give you.'

Your POV

You were still unable to move or talk. You wanted to stop this guy, cut him into little pieces for what he was doing. Was he going to hurt them? 'I want to kill him, he's going to hurt them. How do I move, why can't I move? Mom, sissy, I'm so sorry. I hope by the end of this, you will be okay.'

His slow moving form finally reached the other two women, cowering in the corner. They were muttering goodbyes to each other. DIO bent down to their level, only to grab your mother by her hair and hold her up to himself, face to face. As they reached the same level, she spit in his face, a look of disgust never leaving his features. He scoffs as he puts her neck to his mouth and.. bites her?

She looked as though she had aged extremely fast, her face going wrinkly and her eyes losing their color. You knew she was dead, you just didn't want to accept it. Your body finally moved as you dropped to your knees, tears flowing from your eyes. Your sister had run over to her body as DIO dropped her, wiping his mouth with his sleeve.

"Such weak little creatures humans are. So distraught over death. This will make you stronger (Y/N), I truly believe it. These mere weaklings were wearing off on you, making you seem normal. You're not. You have exceptional abilities, unlike most people, and I want you by my side." He says to you, still lingering over the body of your mother. You didn't respond, just sat there crying, staring at everything you loved being ripped away. You couldn't do anything, not a damn thing to stop him or comfort your sister.

"You bastard!" Your sister yells, thrusting a small pocket knife at DIO, only for him to catch it with ease. He just smirks and stares the little girl in his grip, moving his arm ever so slightly, managing to break her arm with a loud audible crack. She screams so loud, you were surprised no one else heard this. You looked up at DIO with tear filled eyes, hoping he would leave her be if you told him you'd go with him.

Before you could mutter out a response to his offer, he had shoved his pointer and middle finger into your sister, right where her main artery on her neck was. She looked the same as mother, lifeless eyes and seemingly aged. Empty. You couldn't stand this anymore. You couldn't fight back and couldn't run. You were useless and they died because of that.

"Now, let's make this as painless as possible, and come with me." The blonde says, his hair seemingly growing longer only to have small plant-like buds come out of the ends. You didn't want to die, not now. You had finally mustered up enough courage to run away, your feet slipping on the blood pools of your family. As you ran, you could hear his breathing, his voice, his aura. He was close, and kept getting closer. You had to go somewhere where you could see. 'Where is Ace? Shouldn't she fight for me like always? Was I too weak? I need her for this next plan, I just hope she's still here.' You summoned Ace, only for her form to be slightly smaller than normal, her colors looking dulled and her hair lying flat.

"Please Ace, I need to get to the rooftops and I need your help. I'm gonna jump and you have to put some air under my feet to help me get up, okay? Please, I need you, You're all I have left." You say out loud, hoping your friend could hear you. You were quickly coming up on the shortest building for a few miles, your best bet at getting on the rooftops. You push hard into the ground as you approach, Ace putting her hand under your foot to boost you up , only for it to not be enough. You went to grab the ledge, your hand barely missing. You began to fall until suddenly you stopped, something being held tight in your hand. A scythe. The edge of the blade was hooked onto the building, allowing you to pull yourself up onto the top. You continued running on top of the roofs for hours.

You never did return to that alley, much less your house. You just kept running, not a single thought going through your head except one.

'Why didn't you fight back?'
