The One Where Jade Is Scary.

"It's 1 o'clock on a Monday," Benjamin Sawyer pressed as he left the Great Hall with two of his friends. "The week has barely started, and Jade has already ended up in the hospital wing."

Kayla Malfoy didn't respond, only picking up her pace while letting out a heavy sigh.

"I do hope she's okay," Claire Montgomery said, her voice laced with emotion. "I shouldn't have let her skip Herbology. She wouldn't be hurt then."

"She's fine, Claire," Kayla smiled, putting her hand on her friends shoulder, as if that would stop her from falling apart. "I'm more worried about the person she duelled, if I'm being honest."

When Blaise Zabini, a fifth year, had approached the three seventh year Slytherins with the news that his sister had duelled someone in the bathroom, Kayla had shared a look with Benjamin and Claire before hurrying out of the Great Hall without having any lunch. Claire was the only one who was actually concerned. Benjamin was merely annoyed to have his lunch interrupted, and Kayla was unfazed. Jade got herself into these kinds of situations a lot.

They reached the hospital wing within minutes and pushed through the doors. After receiving a good stare from Madam Pomfery, the three friends made their way to the third bed on the left. Jade was seated there, still seething.

"You know what she called me?" Jade spat as soon as her friends were close enough. "A dyke! What nerve she has!"

Claire whispered something into Benjamin's ear, and then he started explaining the definition to her. Kayla ignored them and spoke to Jade.

"So she called you a- well that word, so you hexed her?"

"She provoked me!" Jade exclaimed. She pointed her finger at a girl seated on a nearby bed, who seemed a lot more injured then Jade was. "You provoked me, you little bit-"

"Alright Ms Zabini, you're free to go," Madam Pomfery cut in, sounding exhausted. "Try keep you hands away from that cut on your forehead, we don't want it bleeding again."

Jade pushed herself off the bed and stormed out of the room closely followed by Kayla, leaving Benjamin and Claire to thank the matron.

"She's a Gryffindor," Kayla heard Jade say under her breath. The dark haired girl then turned to her. "She's a stupid Gryffindor. A half-blood stupid Gryffindor. Who does she think she is? Annoying me, a Pure-blood?"

"You shouldn't let those Gryffindors get to you, Jade," Kayla said as they approached the Great Hall. "They're all the same. Arrogant and all talk no bite."

"But she is a half-blood-"

Kayla pointed her finger at Jade, cutting off her speech. "At least it wasn't a Muggle Born."

Jade scoffed in agreement. "If it was a mud blood I think I would've killed her."

Kayla chuckled just as Benjamin and Claire caught up with them. Benjamin was listening intensely to something Claire was saying. Kayla noticed that he kept fixing his hair.

"I hope all the turkey sandwiches haven't been eaten," Claire commented as they reached the great hall again.

"This is Hogwarts, Claire," Jade said. "Do you really think a magic school will run out of turkey sandwiches?"
