Chapter 20 : End

The sound of the gun shot resonated throughout the garage. Everyone's eyes opened wide at the scene they saw.

"Fuck Minju" Chaewon's heart dropped down as she turned to the girl behind her "Are you okay?!"

Felix was surprised at the scene too.

The bullet the woman had fired.............

......... narrowly missed Chaewon and Minju and got stuck at the wall behind them.

"Thank god I made it time"

"Detective Kwon!!" Felix exclaimed as he saw the woman.

Eunbi has arrived with the rest of the police force and managed to kick the gun away in time, shaking the aim.

Taking out her handcuff, Eunbi placed them onto the secretary's wrist.

"You're under arrest"

Police sirens filled the air as blue and red lights shone brightly.

The police force had taken the two adults into custody for a number of crimes.

"Hey you kids should go back home now" Eunbi said as she approached the couple "I would let Felix drive you home but he has some work to do"

Just as Eunbi finished her sentence, a black car stopped in front of them.

"Get on! I'm your ride home" Hyewon grinned, putting the window down.

"Hyewon-ssam??" Chaewon and Minju exclaimed in unison.

Along the way, Hyewon told them about her relationship with Eunbi but other than that, it was all silent.

They arrived at Minju's house where Chaewon would be staying over as well. Hyewon dropped them off before going back home as well.

"Come on..... Let's go in" Chaewon smiles weakly as she tugged Minju's hand "It's been a long night"

Entering the house and closing the door, Chaewon was suddenly engulfed in a hug.

"I was so scared" Minju mumbled into Chaewon's shoulder.

Chaewon wrapped here arms around Minju as she softly patted her.

"I'm here now..... I'll protect you Minju"

That night, the two fell asleep in each other's arms, their warmth ensuring one another that they will always have each other.

One week later

"The CEO of Kim Industries has been arrest for" The news reporter rambled on the TV "illegal crimes such as-"

The TV switched off as Chaewon clicked on the red button on the remote.

"So, care to explain brother?" She asked the man in front of him "How are you alive?"

"Hey! The way you say it seems like you want me dead or something" Felix retorted before coughing "But well, when we got into the accident, a man saved me before the car exploded...... He turned out to be a police officer and that influenced me into wanting to become one"

"But why did you never reveal yourself?"

"I wanted to stay hidden. To become a man of justice instead of some business man's son"

Chaewon hummed as she leaned back.

"Also....." Felix continued before yelling "Can you guys stop being so romantic in front of me?! I feel so single"

Yes, Chaewon was talking to Felix.... while sitting on Minju's lap. The younger girl had her arms wrapped securely around Chaewon's waist.

Chaewon chuckled at her brother's reaction before standing up.

"I'm gonna go get some water"

She went off to the kitchen, leaving Minju and Felix alone.

"So I'm just gonna give the typical brother talk"

Minju nodded seriously.

"I have nothing to say other than to take care of her okay?"

"Yes! I will! Chaewon is the most genuine and honest person I've even met. I'm so lucky to have her and I promise you, I'll always cherish her sir!"

Felix laughed at Minju's reply.

"Sir? That makes me look old. Just call me Felix"

"Y-yes"

Just then, Chaewon returned.

"What did you guys talk about?" She asked before taking her seat, which is Minju's lao.

"Nothing much" Felix replied "I promised her that I'll tell her about embarrassing stories from your childhood"

"What?! No!"

More laughter filled the air as they engaged in a conversation. For the first time in a long while, Chaewon felt the warmth. The warmth of a home.

Together from now on, she knew that better days were waiting ahead.
