Chapter 10: finding her voice

Sky POV

"you better get down here right now sky! I want my breakfast!" My father yelled. I ran down and started to make bacon and eggs. He claimed that I was going to slow for him and he took the bacon oil and poured it on my arms.

I whimpered and I hear him laugh as he enjoyed seeing me in pain. I couldn't handle the pain anymore. I wanted to die.

I looked up and he was taking his belt off and I crawled backwards but I didn't get very far before he whipped me. I was scared to say the least. I whimpered and sobbed I couldn't stop and all it did was fuel his amusement. He took happiness in seeing me in pain.

"Sky wake up! It's just a Dream you're safe now!" I hear a males voice trying to reassure me. What's happening? I jolted up and looked around the room frantically. I see Kaiden staring at me with concern. "It's okay baby, you're safe now,"

I curled up into him and buried my face into his chest. "I'm sorry I couldn't save myself for you" I cried out. Remembering what my father did to me that night. I couldn't even protect myself.

"Shh little mate, it isn't you're fault. There is nothing you could have done. If you're father was still alive I'd kill him myself. I love you Sky and I am not ever going to leave you because of that," he told me and rubbed my back trying to soothe me. I was lucky that I ended up with a mate like Kaiden. He's been nothing but sweet to me. He fight my demons and he isn't disgusted with me.

"I love you too Kai, I'm sorry for all the trouble I caused," I sniffed and he placed his lips on mine. I was shocked at first but then melted into the kiss. His lips felt warm on mine.

"It's alright little mate, no need to be worry." He told me and shook my head "now let's go down for breakfast, shall we?"

We headed down stairs and sat the table. Kai made us a wonderful breakfast which I ate all of it.

Dakota came into the room and greeted me with a smile. He seemed nicer than my old beta was. Dakota is always nice with me and there's a hint of sadness in his eyes. It's been a while since I was here and I feel safe around him.

"G-good morning Dakota," my small voice said and he looked at me shocked.

"Did you just?" He said and he couldn't believe what he was hearing. He looked happy and confused. Kai just sat there enjoying the scene that was happening. I giggled and nodded at him

"Just speak to you? Yes I did," I said and he ran to me pulling me into an embrace. I hugged him back and I know he was happy. I trust him enough to speak and I think I might be brave enough to speak to everyone. To be the Luna Kai's pack deserves. I look over yo Kai who's looking at me in adoration.

"I can't believe that she just spoke to me. Is this happening? My Luna's voice is so pretty," he gushed and Kai slapped his arm and playfully glared at him. While I just giggled and smiled.

"I think I'm ready to become Luna and speak to everyone Kai. I don't want to be afraid anymore of what people will think of me. I want to be the Luna people deserve," I tell Kai and he smiled.

"You don't have to Sky, take all the time you need. There is no rush anything, my pack can wait until you're ready. They heard of you and none of them think differently. They don't hate you, they feel inspired by you," Kai said with a smile and I reciprocated the smile.

"It's okay Kai, I want to do this. I want to be the Luna you and the pack deserves. I found my voice thanks to you. Now I want to become stronger and make this pack stronger. I want to prove to Blake when we beat him that they didn't bring me down. I want to prove that they didn't break me," I said proudly and confidently.

Kai wrapped his arms around me and hugged me tight. I immediately wrapped mine around him. We stood there for a while and I enjoyed ever second of it. I absolutely loved him and he has been there for me. I couldn't had for anyone else. I don't know what I would have done without him.

"You are the best mate I could ever ask for. If you want to officially become Luna then I will schedule a date. My pack will be happy and if you need time that is alright. Take your time love, I am here for you as so is everyone else. You're mom would be very proud of you," he said which made me tear up. I know that she would be I tried to make right for her sacrifice.

I am thankful for my mom for protecting me and giving me a chance to live. Without her I wouldn't have met my mate. I love him and I can't say it enough.

"By the way your brother is coming here for dinner, he wanted to come see you and see how you are doing." He said and I nodded. He leaned out and gave me a sweet kiss to my lips.
