chapter 3

John and I are sitting on the grass in the backside of his yard

I am hugging my knees thinking about how college life is so different than I thought it would be and how much I miss my family. My mum. My dad.

John is sitting crosslegged drinking beer

"When did you get this job offer?" I ask him

"a few days ago, after completing my graduation I thought, I will start at some small company but my dad's friend is the CEO of the company so when I applied I got in, of course, and that too as a Chief financial officer"

I look at him " chief wow"

"Yeah, it's nice," he tells me without looking towards me.

"it's more than 'nice' it's awesome ".

"it's just my dad helped me to get this job I didn't ask for his help I wanted to do it on my own you know"

"your father may have helped you to get it, but it depends on you how you do it". I smile at him

"yeah," he says grinning

"don't doubt yourself I know you are talented," I tell him.

"you are smarter than most of the girls I know".

"Sure, that's why I couldn't get a job". I sarcastically say

"you are looking for a job?"

"Yep, I applied for a few internships 2 days ago".

Amy and Cheryl come to the yard looking here and there searching for something

When they look at me they walk towards us

"We were waiting for you and here you are sitting like someone murdered your cat," Amy says. She has a weird sense of humour that i dont get......or that no one gets.

"But I don't have a cat" I reply frowning

"We thought you left," Cheryl says.

"nope still here but now I am going"

"why no, please stay I am saying at Cheryl for a sleepover"

It sounds fun but right now I am not in a mood to have fun I just want to go home and sleep

"no, I have some errands to run in the morning" I lie

"please rhea"

But I shake my head no

"I stand up and we all exchange our goodbyes.

In the driveway, it hits me Amy and I came together so I don't have a way to go back home and like the night couldn't get any worse I see luke's car coming towards me he stops right in front of me and steps out

"want to go somewhere?".

"No thanks" I will rather walk than go with him and listen to his nonsense

"com'on you rarely have time for me we should spend some time together"

Why does he pretends like we are dating? He just irritates the hell out of me. I want to scream at him and tell him to stay away from me.

"no, I am okay luke thankyou," I say gritting my teeth. His all-time smirk fades and he takes off.

I can call a taxi but I really should start saving money

I decided to walk.

I am walking on a roadside footpath alone, my feet are killing me and I think I forgot the way to home.
