chapter 6

Amy uncovers black cloth from my eyes and a brightly decorated room comes into my view

Cheryl, John, Amy, Luke, James his girlfriend Misha and Liam are standing below a big CONGRATULATIONS banner with few familiar faces chatting behind them.
I am speechless and astound for a minute I don't know what my expression is right now, probably blank
Amy claps her hands with glee "say something? We are waiting for your reaction"

"This is .......this is incredible" and then tears start falling down my face
"you guys are so unbelievable. I can't..."

"Awww" Amy run towards me followed by Cheryl and both of them hug me. "Thank you" I whisper to them and we stand there for a while
Then Amy starts her series of questions "did you like it? I am a good actor, right? I told everyone about it I couldn't keep it in you are not mad right?

"I am not mad. I....."

"It's better than Angela surprise birthday party thrown by her friends, don't you think?"

"Give her a minute Amy" Cheryl smiles at me

"You guys done yet?" John asks behind us
I wipe my eyes and say "yes we are" I smile and walk towards him

"See I told you, you are smarter than most of the girls I know"

"Well that would be true if I would have got this on my own" I don't want to sound sad again because, in reality, I am happy I truly am

"A smart girl quoted once that it doesn't matter how you get it what matter is how you do it" I smile at him and I believe in what I told him, I do and now I know that I will make something out of my life. I just needed something to kickstart my career

"Can I get a hug today?" Luke asks, standing beside us "

I laugh and say "yeah yeah sure". He irritates me a lot but I think he cares about me somewhat

I hug him and he hugs me tight. "Finally," luke lets out

"Oh and congrats," he says and kisses my cheek.
which makes me uneasy but I resist myself from slapping across his face. Today is not the day

I thanked a few of my other friends from college who came to greet me and now are drunk and dancing around each other. Half of them have never talked to me before. They just needed a reason to party, I don't give a shit anyway.

Liam was standing behind the whole time I was bearing Luke nuisance and was smiling at me. I smiled back at him of course. I owe him he is the reason for all this. He also helped to plan this that's why he was messaging john I think, but where is he now?

I go to the kitchen in expectation of seeing him instead I find Cheryl sitting on a dining table drinking from a red cup so I go and sit down with her. I have to talk to her I know she must be thinking about why I didn't tell her. She didn't seem mad or upset about it earlier but it has happened before when Amy didn't tell her about James but told me which steered a huge fight between us

" When did you get this offer?"

"Day before yesterday..... I know you might be wondering why I didn't tell you....but"

"No, I am not wondering that I know... you and Amy are much closer than you and me so that is okay" she smiles but her eyes give it away which made me frown

"No that is not true"

"It's okay I don't need an explanation " she smiles again. It's not like her she will never avoid the subject. She loves confrontation

"I am not explaining anything, you and Amy both are equally important to me. I didn't get the right time to tell you. I told Amy today in the morning when she called me"
