Hi um, so I wanted hiroto to actually be on the main cast of this story but I decided nah.
So here's a one shot of hiroto when he didn't die and the parents lmao

In a summer afternoon, two kids where enjoying the time of their lives (well the other one not so much) . Well it wasn't like there was something big happening. Just your local two children playing near the river with no care on what's happening in the world.

One kid stops to rest on a nearby rock panting.
"You have bad stamina [name]-chan" Hiroto (the boy) pouted at his friend, who is now drinking the water form the river as if her life depended on it.

"Seriously? We ran basically around this mountain without breaks." [Name] responded fanning herself.
"A-And it's summer, so hah!" She declared, before laying down to the grass next to her friend.

Her friend laughed whole heartedly at her.
"You know I wanna become a Demon slayer when a grow up!" He inserted throwing his hands up in the air.

"Demon slayer?" Asked the young girl.

"Mm!" He nodded in confirmation, spinning around he posed.
He held the air imitating a sword with both hands.
"they're the ones who kill demons!" He happily chanted swinging his arms around slicing air.

'I mean yeah, they're called demon slayers for a reason' the (color)nette sassed.
"What's the fun in that?" She asked.

He stopped momentarily, then faced her with sparkly eyes.
In a fanboying mode he spoke thoroughly amazed.

"THEY PROTEC PEOPLE [NAME]!! KILL BAD GUYS AND-" she slapped her hand over the boy's mouth to stop him from talking more.

"please tone it down" she smiled awkwardly, pointing at the forest far from their left.
An eerie silence took over a couple minutes, the face of realization washed over the face of hiroto.

[This forest had some creepy vibes in it. No one dared to have their children near it not even animals. Last time a child was in the forest he never came back, yeah sound like a stereotypical haunted forest but.......

One time an adult (the parent of the said child) went in and surprise, surprise he survived! Though I can't say to his mentality.....
Ok ok he didn't walk out of the forest but was more on found on the ground curled up in a ball. When he was found he still as stone and dang was he scared-
His face looked like as if he saw EVERYTHING.
The said guy didn't talk ever since.
Everyone tried to talk to him, cheering him up but it was no use. He just ignored them, living a life in an endless cycle.

Demon slayers has also tried entering the said forest after several days one finally came out, bloody as heck you can tell he was about to pass out soon of how many blood he was losing.

He didn't last long though, he died of blood loss his last words scared the living macaronies out of everyone.
It was a simple

"Endless......ma-....."

Sadly he mumbled the next parts as of the nurse and doctor couldn't hear.

"Hey we should go home it's getting dark too y'know? Our parents will get worried" Hiroto said his voice wavering.
He took [name]'s hand then slowly ran away to home.

Halfway there, they met a man (more like bumped) . His complexion was pale as snow, eyes red as blood and black curly hair. He wore a suit and a fedora to complete his look.

"Oh?" He question the two children raising an eyebrow.
"Ah! Sorry mister!" The young girl apologized for her friend.
He quickly scanned the both of them then smirked.
"What are you doing here kids?" He spoke in a questionable tone.
"We were going back home! How about you mister" hiroto asked in a friendly tone.
[Name] intimidated by the man hid behind Hiroto.

"Ah! I was doing the same" he 'bashfully' said, averting his eyes to the intimidated girl he spoke.
"Are you scared?"

Reluctantly she said " ye-yes"
Bending down to her height he asked "hmmm? Why is that?" Damn well he was hella intimidating, his plum red eyes shone in the dark.
"I-we haven't s-seen a-ny person at night out be-fore. Ot-ther than papa"
Stuttering the girl answered truly, no lie nor did she sugarcoat her words.

Seemingly satisfied he turned around and disappeared in the night.
