" So now it's come down to snooping through my phone, huh?" Lisa says dryly. I'm so startled that I practically fall out of my chair. I turn and see her standing right behind me with a glare that could probably kill me if, you know, looks could kill. " So now it's come down to stealing my boyfriend, huh?" I quickly retort back. She looks at me with a very serious apologetic look. " Look, Casey-" she starts but I cut her off. " I don't want to here what you have to say, OK? I just want you out of my house." I say with a stony expression. she quietly gets up, gathers her stuff and leaves. I finish getting the pancakes and eat them in silence. The next day at school was a very awkward one. It was hard enough with my ex- best friend and boyfriend with me in most of my classes but now that they are together it is completely unbearable. Every time I look up, I either see them holding hands, kissing, or staring into each other's eyes lovingly. I mean, how sick is that? At least I still have the rest of my friends to hang out with. But then again they seem to be losing interest in me also. I guess Lisa has been starting rumors about me ditching her and some other not so nice stuff that we both know I didn't do. She is being such a bitch right now

When I get home from school I'm surprised to see my parents '78 camaro in the driveway. I quickly park my car and hurry inside. When I step inside the house, the most wonderful smell enters my nose and I slowly drift into the kitchen. There I see my dad hovering over something simmering in a pot.

Mmmmm spaghetti my favorite! I thought excitedly. Just then my mom walked in to the kitchen and sat down her fingers interlaced looking at me carefully. My dad set the food around the table. Now they were both staring at me. "Mom, Dad is there something wrong?" I asked "Casey, honey there is something we need to tell you. You remember Aunt Linda right?" I just nodded wondering were this conversation was leading. Aunt Linda was this beautiful lady who lived up in the foot hills who we went to visit one year when I was younger. "Well we are sending you to live with her." My mom said bluntly. "I spit out the lemonade I had just taken a sip of. "What? Why?" I asked confused. "Well your dad lost his job and we just can't afford to have you around. It's not permanent though. Just for the year." "What about school?" I asked. "Linda said she knew of some great schools. Your going to be fine Cas. It'll be fun! You'll see." I got up and ran from the room and fled to my bedroom. There I cried and cried until I had no tears left and then I started to pack up my bags. I was not going to stay where I was not wanted. I would go to my Aunt's, perhaps there I'll be happy.
