Jeffrey's POV
I watched Hazel check her purse and pockets again; phone - check, knife - check. Those were the two things she needed the most. I was parked behind a car the same color as mine and I was lucky the windows to my car were tinted. She called my phone, I answered and then she placed her phone in her pocket. I looked at her, taking in her beauty, her majestic features. Her face showed confidence as a smile crept across it, her honey-like eyes showing a sparkle I adored. The love of my life was sure this was going to work but I was worried for some reason; my heart had been racing in my chest since I woke up this morning.
''Alright, are you ready?'' she looked me in the eyes as one of her hands reached the handle of the door.
''Are you ready?'' I asked, wanting her to feel one hundred percent sure about it all.
''As ready as I can be'' the corners of her perfectly formed, plump lips went up into yet another smile. God, she was so beautiful, my princess.
''Hey, bad girl, be careful, yeah?''
''Yes, sir'' she brought her index and middle fingers up to her temple for a military-like salute before opening the door.
''Hey, Hazel'' I stopped her by grabbing her hand. ''I'm gonna kill the guy if he lays a hand on you. I want you to know that I'm not just gonna sit here and watch him be an asshole. I'm seriously ready to commit a crime for you''.
''I know. It's gonna be fine though, I hope it won't get that far'' she brought my hand up to her mouth and kissed the back of it. ''I love you, be right back''.
''I love you too, so much'' my lips found hers and kissed her passionately before she left the car.
With my earphones on, I watched her walk gracefully holding on to her purse that hung on her shoulder. Only she and I knew what was in it and I sighed at the thought. Five minutes later Benjamin came. He was smiling, holding his arms open to give my girl a hug. I gritted my teeth, already ready to get out of the car, but I had to keep it together. Hazel seemed to hesitate a bit, but she had to hug him back to look credible.
He had blond hair, was quite tall and was dressed fully in denim. He wasn't an ugly guy, in fact, he looked kinda handsome, but his personality and the way he acted made him really ugly.
''You look so sexy, munchkin'' he spoke and I was glad I could hear the conversation pretty well. The nickname he had for her and the compliment he gave her made me tighten my grip on the steering wheel.
She thanked him, and after telling him lies for a while, her hand was ready to enter that bag and I knew she was about to hit him with the truth. ''So listen, Benjamin. Do you love me?'' she asked him.
