Mama told me to always be careful with the cash,
To know that not all things lastBut oddly, never once did in the list of things too costly
Did I find my feelings being among the most pricey.Sleepless nights and empty days,
Oh the lies I told myself about things being okay.A pinch of pain, a slap in the face
And yet I wondered what always kept me awake.I blamed the coffee I drank at an odd time
But never the call that didn't make it my way
The message that reminded me to stay away,
Or the intimations I ignored night and day.And so I circle around your name with a red marker
Marking territory I should never wander. For this poor heart just took a beating
in the aftermath of something that started with a stupid little feeling. ☂️

Who else relates of being hurt in the name of 'feelings'?
Life can suck sometimes.
What we need to remind ourselves is that in the end,
We all need to choose ourselves. ❤️

PoetryWhat I love about poetry is how every reader makes sense of it differently, in a way that it's almost personal to them. Here's series of poems written by Me. But I'm hoping you find your story in them too. 🥀
